If you have 6 band in each module in IELTS , and have paid 1 year tution fees , then you are eligible for SDS , and it has highest success rate among these three categories , and visa processing in SDS is 45 days...success rate in General and University is almost the same but a little higher in university category , visa processing time in university category is also less than general category.
Anyone who has experience wit this process and have got their visa quickly ?

Hi I got admission to University of new brunswick Saint john campus for MBA intake of Sept 18. I applied for visa under SDS on 27th June. My medical is also done. Any idea in how many days I will get visa?
Hi,

Good to know that you secured seat. Have you paid first year full tuition fees? How much amount you paid?

Hey bro! Really? General category has minimum chance? Is it written on the website officially?
Because i have same issue. I have paid gic and 1 semester fee , i have 7.5 ielts and good finance . I am going to university of calgary for Bachelors in computer science after my 12th class .

I can't pay 2nd semester fee now because receipt will take time to come and i can't wait that long.

I guess i will be included in university category? What are my visa chances if i apply by end of this week?
..to satisfy your curiosity, read more on it on CIC website, I think you would have better understanding of it there

Shivani,
You can get student visa but before this just secure your seat in DLI approved college. Go for 2 year diploma program.

hello!!
1. Is GIC mandatory??
besides,i have maintained 8 lacs bank balance for more than three months.

2. which category should i apply for?
SDS or General?

3. my course consists of total 8 courses. i can attend maximum three courses or minimum two courses in a term. fees can be calculated as per course attended. so for one year how much fees i should pay? six course only or all eight courses?

details-
i have applied for winter 2019 session, masters of engineering in electrical engineering in windsor university. i did my undergraduate degree in electrical engineering in 2012 and since then working in same field.
i have scored 7 bands with no less than 6 in IELTS.

1. GIC is a "must have" , it strengthens your case a lot , moreover , in SDS , it is mendatory , and in general , it is not mendatory but you MUST pay a GIC.

2. You should apply under SDS obviously , as it has faster processing and requires less financial documents . But you need to pay 1 year fees and purchase GIC to be eligible for SDS.

3. It is upto you , if you can get your degree by attending 6 courses per year , then pay for 6 courses , but if completing all the 8 courses is mendatory for getting your degree , then you must pay for 8 courses . Check your offer letter , it should be written on it that how much fees you need to pay for 1st year.

i have a work experience of almost 2 years and got my student visa rejected yestarday due to financial ability. I have enough funds and docs but didnt show them as my agent didnt guide me. Can I still apply again for SDS? or will my experience and refusal matters?

IMHO, you should apply for a 2 year program and get an offer letter from some University. Otherwise, your visa rejection chances increase with these short duration college programs. You mentioned you have close to 7 yrs work exp. VO will like to see your english proficiency as well. Anything less than 7 band again risk your chances. These are my personal opinions and I may be wrong. But for a moment put yourself in the shoes of VO and see your application from VO viewpoint.
Hey i just completed my graduation and i am going to apply for Visa this week. Got late bcs i was waiting for my 6th sem result. My profile is
