Feb 2018 applicant here. My background check took 1 year 4 months to complete after IP.
How did you approach IRCC? Requesting ATIP’s or contacting individual dept for notes? And may i ask do you have any idea why it was prolonged! Such as too much travel or anything!

I can’t even imagine how you waited like 3.5 years. Are you done with the process now or still waiting?
Does anyone know when the security check starts? Is it from date of AOR, in process date or when the crim is set to passed. I can’t see anything in my GCMS so just wanted to know if there is way to know this. I called call centre agent in June but they don’t provide this info. Please share your experiences . Thank you.
Got my notes from CSIS. It just says that your security screening case is still in progress. It doesn’t disclose anything else. I think it’s of no use to apply for these notes.
As far as I’m concerned, criminality and security are both initiated at the same time. I believe security is done quicker than criminality though, so I’m your case, I think you will get FP request at some point
