Well you could not say it better, my wife just got the email 2 hours ago confirming stage 2 was over and we wait for a landing date; furthermore we are celebrating tomorrow our 1st anniversary wedding birthday...we could not get a better gift....something more to celebrate

My DM letter dates Oct 13, I guess CIC peole are working on weekends? hmmm... My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniv on tuesday! yours on the 15th and ours on the 16 wow! maybe we'll get the same landing date

Congratulations for your wedding anniversary, funny we are so close indeed.
Regarding landing date it would be funny to be on the same day, the only thing is we still haven't paid the PR fees and I am wondering if I should pay it immediately online or wait at the office; not sure they accept payment there anymore.

By the way, did your ecas update as well?

@ vinlander, didn't pay landing fee yet too. I dont know what to do, to pay on line or during the landing interview, please let me know what's your view on this. I am guessing we might have the same landing date...

My ECAS has not changed yet neither but we know it can take a while sometime.

@ Lyn I finally decided to pay immediately online so it will be done and I will only need to bring a printed copy of the official receipt. I also read an old post from qw123 (a fellow 2011 Montreal Inlander who landed back in August) where it was mentionned sometime the online payment is no longer available as a choice once the letter from the local office is sent. I did not want to go to the hassle of mailing a payment or go in a bank.

Hopefully we will get a landing date soon, but we can't complain with the speed of things

Having read your posts, I have come to conclude that having "medical received" shown on ECAS confirms that you have obtained your PR, and will be called by Montreal office. May I ask you if you agree with my conclusion? I would highly appreciate your sharing of info.

Actually Medical Received means you are on the 2nd stage in process, it doesn't imply it is over...
When we got AIP (1st stage) they started processing the PR section which request the medical and at some point it said Received.
When PR says DM (Decision Made) it means 2nd stage is over and then you will get your landing date.
Hope it clears a bit.

Hi,

Although it seems to lead to eventually getting PR, I wouldn't necessarily say that one can automatically conclude that, since a background check is necessary as well (Police Clearance(s), etc.). From what I've read on this forum, some people get DM and are contacted by their local office shortly after ecas says that medicals have been received and others wait for months sometimes.

Also, I'm not sure if that's your case, but your username PEQ, does that have anything to do with "Programme de l'Expérience Québecoise"?
If so, none of what was said in this thread is really useful for you since this whole discussion deals with Spousal Sponsorship done inland through the Family Class and PEQ is a complete different process with its own different steps.

Just checked my ecas today, changed into DM also just like vinlander.

Hello! Today we received an email from CIC say "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor..." But it didn't mention anything about the Quebec step. Is it normal? Should we just go ahead and mail the Quebec forms? Thanks!
