    Refugee Travel Document Processing Time

Typically the government waits and hopes that Canadapost goes back to work before going to alternate carriers. The strike went on long enough they had to do something while it seems like they were waiting it out until the partial back to work this time.

    Open work permit while sponsoring

Yet you still suggested that I was wrong and the person had implied status from the WP. To clarify please apply for visitor record before the 6 month is up if you haven’t received a WP to remain in status.

Haven’t received my passport back after visa renewal (1 month delay

All due to the Canadapost strike. Assume you should be able to get a tracking number this week or next week.

Asking for extention on PPR submission

Up to the VO. Assume you included proof of these confirmed reservations. If you haven’t heard back submit passport as soon as your return home. Better to ask forgiveness than wait for an answer most of the time. Not a significant amount of time so likely will be fine.

    Open work permit while sponsoring

No implied status if a visitor. Call centre routinely gives out wrong information and can not replace professional advice or your own research.

Asking for extention on PPR submission

How long are you asking for. Technically no extensions but within a certain time period tends to be fine. How much longer do you need?

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

No. A large portion of H&C applicants don’t have status and H&C does not prevent removal. CBSA rarely deported people with active H&C cases but that has changed. Canada has a large number of temporary residents and a small amount of PR spots. There is no pathway to PR for a large number of them...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Processing could technically be multiple decades actually given how low the quota appears to be for general H&C. H&C does not prevent removal and many people without status who have H&C in process are being removed. Your best option is economic immigration. This may be your only option but...

    Alberta Tech pathway

The bigger issue is this does not seem like a realistic pathway to PR. When does your WP expire?

Parents visitng on visitor visa for 1 month, after starting their SuperVisa application

Would start it asap because it could take months to process.

Applying for PR in Ontario while my family stays in Alberta and after planning to sponsor them

Very good chance listing your spouse as non-accompanying is going to be an issue. Either could be considered misrepresentation or your score can be recalculated. To qualify for things like OHIP you need to meet residency requirement and make your permanent home in Ontario. You also may run into...

H&C Humanitarian Ground with/or Without Failed refugee claim

Processing would literally be decades for your application unless there are significant reforms to this program and H&C does not prevent removal. Would strongly encourage you to start working towards another pathway to PR. Start learning French, work in a field in demand, upgrade your...

Would be interested to hear on what grounds or where this is specified in IRCC literature if anyone can find it.

Valid Visa for 2 More Months, But Reapplication Stuck – Advice?

How long did they want to visit and what are the reason for the visit? Canada has become much more strict about who is granted TRVs and for how long.

Inland or Outland? Not living together

Do you have proof of living together for a continuous year in a common law relationship (things like shared finances, being listed on each other’s insurance, etc.)?

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Take the government to court. There is still the option to meet in a 3rd country although I instead it is not ideal. You may consider reunification for spouses and dependent children a human right but there is no law or specific time period during which this has to happen. Other countries...

Urgent: Sudden Increase in PR Processing Times for Refugees and Protected Persons (Up to 99 Months!)

Processing times will get much longer and 8 years is likely. It is pure math. Canada was opened it’s doors and didn’t try to prevent asylum seekers from entering Canada for years and welcomed a large number of refugees at the same time. There is now a very large pool of protected people and...

    2025 PR Application Timeline

Don’t believe that is correct but I am not an immigration lawyer. They would need to list their family members in their application. You may want to ask for clarification and proof that this is possible. How old is the child...

    2024 PR Application timeline

You don’t apply. It is processed by the government sometimes after eligibility is passed. It is an administrative test. Services is typically general information about moving to Canada. If you are joining family in Canada probably not necessary.
