Valid Visa for 2 More Months, But Reapplication Stuck – Advice?

Hey everyone,

Here’s a bit of a puzzler:

• Applicant still has a valid visitor visa for the next 2 months, but had to reapply because of passport expiry.
• First attempt this year was refused — apparently, the officer wasn’t convinced they’d leave Canada.
• Submitted a second application a few months later. IRCC requested additional documents (related to previous government employment), which were provided… and now it’s just sitting there pending.
• Fun fact: applicant has visited Canada three times before with no problems.

Has anyone gone through something like this recently? How long did it take after submitting additional documents? Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated.

How long did they want to visit and what are the reason for the visit? Canada has become much more strict about who is granted TRVs and for how long.
