Received my AOR today!

Oh thank you for the reply. How about my son, he was 17 when I paid last November and now he's 18. Will the payment I made last November still ok or they will return the money and I do have to make new payment?

Be careful here. If you sign in new date that will be considered your application date. In this case all your son forms need to be changed from kids to adult form and a new payment.
But if you keep the original signature with original forms and eligibility period calculation, your son still minor at that date and no need new forms no need for extra payment.
I recommend to get opinion from calling CIC or lawyer expert better than loosing more time.

Not true. I applied with my kids 2 of which are under 14. All I included was 2 copies of their foreign passport and 1 copy of health card for each kid and I’ve got aor.

If it’s under subsection 5(1) you need to submit the edu docs for minors. Happy for mostly everyone getting their AOR’s. Hope it goes well all along. Fingers crossed.

Since my son already 18 does he need proof of english? Here in Calgary, he studied grade 9, 10, 11 and now in grade 12.

I would send a new application package for the family, filing new forms, but considering your son as an adult because he is 18 at the moment of signing the application form. You would have to print new physical presence calculator forms and, for the ID documents, send 2 copies of the passport page (one for ID and another for the passport requirment) and 1 copy of health card.

As an aside, with almost 63% AOR rate for 105 data points before the first half of February is quite something.

• It definitely confirms my suspicion that something has happened to the way AOR's are being processed, somewhere around the end of October. Whether this is them pencil-whipping the applications in this stage to meet their new 90-ish calendar day/60-ish business day KPI is up for debate.
• My other guess is that it just may have happened that the majority of applicants in November didn't present complicated processing conditions (which is difficult to determine ad somewhat subjective)
• At the rate it's progressing, I would not be surprised to see December 2020 1st week application deliveries getting their AOR's closer to the last week of February.
• I've been trying to chase down folks and minimize stale entries on the tracker which has helped see the data points a little clearer - Two have confirmed the applications were returned to them and the status of less than ten (that should have gotten their AORs by now) is unknown and needs following up. But by and large, it would seem that there happening at a fairly steady clip within the small sample set. This is good!

Seeing as this possible change of the way they're working has our month largely as the first guinea pigs, it's going to be interesting to see if this 'new way of doing things' also influences our timelines in getting the 'In Process' status. Folks should keep their eyes peeled for this.

I love your analysis. Maybe they are trying to catch up with the paper applications to launch the online applications formally and officially, this is jut my assumption. Three of the December online applicants have received AORs already, so the December statistics are going to look quite differently from previous months.

Hi - What does AOR mean? - in the sense...does it just indicate that the application was received? I understood that if the application was missing any information / fails some basic checks - then there will not be any AOR and the application package returned. Is my understanding correct?
