Sorry to hear it was returned , but for minor , school record was used as an ID and it was missing ? As they just need picture ID and school record for minors irrespective of period

It wasn't meant for an ID. It's for the education history (if you check form CIT 0403)

  Both pieces of identification should show the minor’s name and date of birth, one of which must have a photo on it.
  Examples include:
  • school record;
  • health insurance card;
  • a passport page containing their photo and personal details;
  • a hospital or immunization record, may be provided.
  • Note: If there is information on both sides of the identification document, photocopy both sides.

For me and my son it was all ok, unfortunately they returned all our application today due to my daughter's school education records only. Could anyone please help me with all of my questions before resending the application.

Q1. Will they refund me even though I haven't requested a refund 'coz I want to resend our application asap? (The reason I don't want them to refund it because when I applied last November my son were still 17, since it took 3 months, he is now 18 - so I don't want to pay $630 instead of $100 only).

Q2. Returned application came stapled in 3 sets, do I need to remove the staples and replace it with paper clips?

Q3. Same thing with the photos, came sealed with plastics and stuck on the paper, do I need to remove it and just use paper clips?

Dont remove any staples. Just provide the missing information with letter of explanation and you should be fine

Sorry to heard that. I don't understand why they need your daughter's School records?.
Did you sent identity documents (2-copies of the biographical page of the passport, health card)?

Identity Documents is one part, for minors under 14 you need to specifically send schools documents/educational records. Refer document checklist for minors.

It depends if applying under section 5(2) or 5(1) for minor , this is for section 5(1)

Oh thank you for the reply. How about my son, he was 17 when I paid last November and now he's 18. Will the payment I made last November still ok or they will return the money and I do have to make new payment?

CIT 0002, CIT 0003 new forms are updated. Old forms are accepted until the end of this month. Plan accordingly.

Try to send it in FedEX or UPS.
I think your applcation should reach to sydney, NS by 17th Feb ( Beacause you signed on18th Nov,2020. Application should reach within 90days).
Next Monday long weekend

5(2) is for Parent or guardian applying for a minor (under age 18)

You mentioned that you were applying for you, your son and your daughter, so you could have applied under 5(2), right?

Same doubt I had.

He made mistake by sending Minor application in 5(1), instead of using 5(2).

5(1) needs Physical presence Calculation (PPC), language proof.

in my personal opinion, 5(1) is much more tedious/complicated than 5(2).

5(2) should be used instead of 5(1), but they never mentioned the mistake I made as they only just asking me to send the missing document which is the education history for the last 5 years. But I will check the 5(2). Thanks.

What do you mean? Is it about the validity of my November payment? What if I passed the 90 days? Thanks.
