Hi all,
Applying for work permit outside Canada with spouse and kid.
Child was born in USA and has a valid US passport.
Now when asked if Applying with family members i chose spouse and child.
For child questions section- what country that issued passport ? I chose USA and the system says based on the provided information the family member does not need Canada visa. And this now make his details in the application to go off.
What do I do?

Do I choose child's second nationality so as to make his data show that child is travelling with us or do I choose USA?
If I choose USA how will the officer know the child is coming with us.
Thanks.

Hello All,

I have applied work permit (closed) on oct 27th. My employer also filed visitor visa for my spouse. I was able to schedule my biometric. As biometric is not open for visitor visa, I was thinking to travel to Dubai for my wife's biometric.

Question: Do I need to file visitor visa for my spouse and get then get the open work permit or I can file open work permit regardless of my salary stub. I read online and it looks like you need to file with your salary stub..is that right? But, I'm confused a few folks here were able to file the open work permit without they being in Canada. Any info would be helpful

Hi i am also a work permit applicant and together with my application i also applied for my husband open work permit and student permit for the kids. You don’t have to be in canada to apply for an open work permit for your spouse. We’re done with our biometrics and now we are waiting for our medical request. I hope this helps.

My status changed in Eligibility from 'not started' to 'we are reviewing your eligibility'. Also IRCC requested some additional information about my country of residence (I have moved from the country where i initially filed my application). Should i take it as a good sign that they are actually working on my application?

Has anybody been in a similar situation? If yes, how long did it take for approval to come in after they provided the additional information?

Congratulations!
Do you mind letting me know the country from where the application was filed?
