I got the AIP and medical request together 2 months after my background check started, but I am aware there are others from Jan/Feb who still haven't received medical requests or anything. Given that people from 12 months ago from QC are still just receiving their PR now, it's a long process for most, much longer than for the rest of Canada. I seem to be the abnormality not the norm in my timeline. I wish I could tell you what I did to get mine moving, but I have no idea! Sorry I can't be more helpful :(
I'm glad yours got sorted out man. It is your application that is giving us hope :) Lets hope that the holiday period is over and they will start rushing through those pending applications ;)

I honestly feel slightly bad! I mean from 2018, people who applied in August/September still haven't got DM yet and I applied 6 months after them and I do. I hope that my timeline is the new normal though, as this whole making QC applicants take 6 months longer than everyone else is a bit of a joke, when there is no logical reasoning behind it.
I'm just checking my emails 10 times a day now waiting for the landing letter, which hopefully won't take another 6 months lol.

You did nothing to get yours moving. Immigration does tests and "play around" with many applications. Sometimes they randomly pick one to process faster like if they were put in a "pilot" shorter processing time.

Guys!
I have received my CSQ in mail 2 days ago (last Friday).

March 14 applicant here from Quebec. Accuse de reception for CSQ was received on June 13...I have also noticed that mu BGC has started and showing as in process. I was wondering how long BGC (Background check) normally takes? and do they request for medical while the BGC is in process or they will wait until they get the results and then they will ask for medical?? Please guide!
thanks

Hi,
CIC send me a letter to apply for CSQ. Will CIC wait for CSQ to proceed with my aplication?
Thanks

Nothing happens (in most cases) on the Federal side until after your CSQ is sent out. Your deadline now lies with Quebec. 4 weeks I think it was from the date of the letter (it states the deadline on the federal government letter).

Once you get your CSQ, you will get a letter saying that you've been accepted and get 2 copies of your CSQ.
1: For yourself
2: For the federal government (if required) But Quebec update them of your acceptance anyway as part of the process, this is confirmed on the acceptance letter. Best of luck!

As said before the deadline will be (I think it was) 4 weeks from the date of the letter. Whatever the length of time it is, is stated on your letter from the Fed.

I received the landing letter from Mississauga last night saying my application is complete and Montreal office will contact me for the landing interview. Took them 11 days to send it after I saw DM on ECAS though.

That's amazing! Huge congrats! How long has it taken for you to get to this point? Ie your timeline? I wanna eventually plan a trip back home but dunno when exactly to book it because I've no idea how long it'll drag on for, with the Quebec element involved

Once again huge congratulations to you

Thanks :) My timeline is here;
PR app received: Feb 13th
AOR: April 2nd
CSQ Request: April 12th, submitted April 13th
Started Processing Background Check: June 8th
CSQ Received: July 16th (they lost it and it took much longer than expected at the time)
AIP: August 8th
Medical Request August 8th
Medical Completed: August 9th
SA: August 13th
Medical Passed: Aug 22
DM PA side: Sep 5
Landing Letter: Sep 16

I also want to plan a trip back home for my sisters wedding in Jan and I've been waiting to get PR before I book it as I'll have to go for 3 weeks minimum without my boyfriend and I thought it was way too risky to do it while everything was still processing.

I applied for my CSQ mid-June, and they processed payment on the 28th. I'm assuming they are now working on mine since the website updated. Do they give any update other than the acceptance letter ?
