123settgo, Thanks for the valuable tip. I just bought the FE other discipline book, exams and formula sheets. Time management is the biggest challenge. Will update you guys as I move through these stages
Hi Syed,
Today I have been assigned FE exam, despite having 12 years of experience ( including more than 6 years under PEng in Canada), can you please share on which email address you inform the exact reason for FE exam, Also please share from where you bought your preparation material, let's connect so that we can help each other in preparation.
you can drop me an email:- akfesco@gmail.com
its being 12 years since i graduated so i am not sure how they expect us to remember formulas and stuff.

Ehaskhu - where did you get your undergrad degree? and has it been assess to be equal to a Canadian 4-yr degree?
Seems like APEGA is becoming a lot more strict. I've known people from before who were not assigned FE with this much experience.

I see, will I remember another colleague of mine he's got a 25 years experience and yet he was assigned FE exam. This seems to be standard then moving forward.

way back 2013, I applied with only 5 or 6 years experience, just like you, thinking I already made it but no. they assigned me 5 more exams even after passing the FE. just like you I passed the FE before the decision was given but still it wasn't enough. at that time, I was told by apega representative that if I do not want to take any further exam, i probably wait until I have 18 years experience. lol

so i was pissed and let the application expired. i haven't applied again yet. i will probably apply again next year or so

to your question if you can get assessment before application - the answer is NO. they will not entertain you unless you submit a formal application and pay for it and wait about 1 year for the decision. that decision is the assessment itself.
NOW thinking :(
can you provide NPPE exam material or something at my email address if you have.

Sorry, that's a long time ago, no longer have them. Besides, there might be some changes so you better purchase latest materials recommended by apega

I applied for APEGA in June 2018 and internal review was completed in Sep 2018 . Did not hear from them till May 2019 when my coordinator told me to talk to Applications department directly . SO i talked to the supervisor and she was very responsive . She told me that all the academic examiners are university professor and it was busy season for them , But now the season is ending , they will have time to review . She sent my file to another available examiner and it was completed within 1 week . She expedited my file and asked the experience examiner to review asap . This was done with 1 day . ( I hope my experience was accepted as it was really quick by their standard ) . I asked her if everything is okay . She told me that if anything is needed they would have requested it . My file is now sent to BOE now for August meeting as there is no meeting in July .

Keeping my fingers crossed ...

I had the same issue in April, my file was in Academic Examiner review for 6 months, so I sent an email, my coordinator told me to ask the admission, they said it is still under the normal processing time (1 year) and most of their review work is done by volunteers so it takes time. I gave them a lesson of their own by saying "Its is not ethical to volunteer if you do not have the time". That paved the way, in a couple of days the Academic Examiner was done and the next week my file status was "Case to the board June 2019".
But I am still waiting and worried, especially that it is the end of the month and I have not heard anything.

Just to update you, I got my PEng. No need to worry about fast processing of experience review.
