How do I request GCMS notes? When I talked to the call center agent, she said my background check is complete and that i should receive my test invite any day.
Don’t trust what they say... call another agent and he/she would give you a different answer. After 12 months the only thing they can do is send a note to the local office and there’s nothing more they know and nothing else they can do

I will never call them again - part of the reason is as they told me there’s nothing they could do after sending that note, also because the last agent I spoke was so nasty - i was calm and polite the whole time, never raised my voice or anything , was only asking if he could see any updates after the notes was sent a month ago, and he got really impatient and condescending that I felt like a criminal taking to a prosecutor - I have had some very nice ones over the last several months, and some not as nice but still ok, this one is just disgusting

Hi All,

I am an Ontario resident who applied for citizenship in September 2017 and am still awaiting a response.

Here are the broad timelines of my case :-

Application Received by CIC : September 2017
Application Processing Start Date : November 2017
Fingerprint Request Received : September 2018
Fingerprints Submitted : September 2018

As you can see that my file has moved really slow and it has been almost 14 months since my application and I haven't even received my test invite as of now as well.

I have my regional MP's office calling CIC for my case, I have my GCMS notes, I am following up with CIC using the web query option. I really don't know what else can I do on top of this.

My wife applied after me in Feb 2018 and got her citizenship last month. My daughter was born here so is already a citizen.

I know I can lawyer up but that isn't something that I am looking at this stage.

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated ?

yep, its been a hit and a miss for me as well in terms of agents, most have been really nice though. They don't have any decision making power, probably don't see much info either on our case. Just general terms I guess.

Have you tried to send a feedback / complaint in CIC website?? Again no guarantee tis would change anything and you an try it. I can't think of any other avenue.

I am going to do that tonight as that is the only other option that I can see which I have. I am frustrated and exhausted with this entire process to say the least.

I'm an October 2017 applicant still waiting for a test invite.

In my app anniversary i called IRCC, they said they'll ping my office.

Its been two weeks and I haven't heard back. How long did your office take to get back to you?

Should I escalate? Should I call again? Should I involve my MP? Whats the next best course of action?

Thanks.
In my case it was 21 days. I suggest waiting one or two more weeks.
