Ah, that sucks.

Typically it takes 4 months for the OWP - if we get the medical done and re-submit, will it take another 4 months to get the restriction lifted?

More and more I feel like an inland application was not the way to go...I can't recall if outland was still an option (I believe it used to be) - wonder if that is being processed faster....
She can go to the border and do the flagpoling once she does the medical exams... she will bring the paper given by the medical physician and the wp so at the border they can take those conditions out and give a new one.

Is there anyone in the forum that recently got their OWP after having made a mistake paying the OWP fees ($100 + $155)? There is a sub-group of us still waiting on our OWPs that would really appreciate it if you could share your timeline. We would like to know when Vegreville received your corrected OWP application and what date you received the emailed (or the physical) OWP notice. Thanks!

Express entry wasn’t even a consideration for us and in all honesty I didn’t know it was an option and just assumed the family class would be easiest for us.
That was what has been recommended by a few people ( one immigration consultant included and was additionally informed there is a chance to already get an open work permit on arrival by cbsa).

Additionally - a trip back to Germany will be required after a few months - would this be problematic if our application is underway ? It would just be a couple of weeks maximum.
I find it unreal how complicated this whole process is - although they mention it’s easy enough to do all the paperwork yourself.

Thanks again for any tips!!
I am not sure about getting an open work permit on arrival. Maybe someone else can chime in on that. Even if the application is in process, I do not envisage any issues with getting in and out of the country. Its less of an issue if you accompany him during those trips.Paperwork for spousal is definitely easier and more lax than express entry since these programs serve very distinct purposes.
Outland and express entry will take about 6 months to process. In both cases, your spouse does not need to be in Canada. If you are doing inland, as per the present timelines, OWP are being issued about 4 months after they receive your application. I am sponsoring my wife right now and the wait is excruciatingly painful given that our application has already been returned once.

The process isn't as complicated as what i have experienced in the US but the wait times even to know if your application is complete and accepted gets frustrating. I must admit from personal experience that immigration officers at the port of entry are far more accommodating than other countries i have traveled to.

I signed in a moment ago and noticed that my application status had changed to "Updated" - but then my session expired due to inactivity and when I signed in again the status was back to "Your Action is Required" (which is a glitch since I've uploaded and submitted all necessary documents - I've confirmed with CIC).

I've seen this happen to others in this group before and if I remember correctly that meant there was some progress?? Some who noticed this received correspondence or something within the days following. Has anyone had this experience?

Is that applicable in her scenario...from other reading on the forum, I thought that this type of approach to removing conditions did not work when a spousal PR application accompanies OWP application

Also, does it require crossing the border, or going to the border? With OWP only, they have no requirement to let her back in, which is a risk i do not want to take.

Did your background check box change to processing?

Flagpoling to change permits or to change conditions is the most common way... I did that! There are nothing wrong You just have to check the schedule of the border

Hi,
Lol...I’m praying for our OWP next ;) From what I understand, the medical request. It’s a bit of a relief to see something happening :)
Yes we’re still waiting for our OWP... that’s top priority for us, the rest isn’t a big deal. Is it normal to have background check now? I submitted Sep 5.

Yes, from what I’ve seen. I submitted August 8th and mine starting processing about a month ago. My OWP application recently changed to “We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Hello!
I sent my PR + OWP in Oct 2017 and it was received on Oct 20th 2017. With my application package, I sent a medical exam that was about to expire (it expired on Nov 16th 2017).
In my online account, my PR application shows that I passed the medical exam. However, my concern is my OWP (online it shows the usual "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.") because I have intentions of working in the health field. Should I do another medical exam upfront and send now?
