Always do

In myCic account it says "Your action is required"( I still dont report it as a technical problem).
I loaded the form and a letter about my Police Certificate a weeks ago and in ECAS it says that if I dont load the required documents, do it as soon as possible.

Is that normal or I'll report the technical problem so they can review my application?
Can you help?

Congrats on sending in your application. if you submitted a OWP with your application then she is on implied status until a decision is made on the OWP application. having said that you should still apply for a visitor status because if for ANY reason the PR application or OWP is returned she will out of status. you will not be able to apply for an OWP and wouldn't qualify for one until AIP. my suggestion is to apply for visitor extension so if for any reason the application is returned she can still have status in Canada
Hi, my partner is Korean and some Korean consultant told her that she cannot apply to any other visa as she already is in implied status. Is it true?

Congrats! I know everyone is different, but how long after passing medical exam did you hear an update? I'm a Feb 28 2017 applicant and passed medical exam in July, have not had an update or heard anything else since. I'm coming up to 12 months and still haven't been asked for police checks etc...
Heyyy, i'm March 2017. You told that you have not been asked for pcc ?? Really ?? I was in the same situation. I was so worried that i did not have any request for pcc and schedule A until October, then i decided to call CIC directly, and you know what.,.they said that they requested my pcc and schedule A since March >.<...i was so so angry i did not get any request...THEN I SEND PCC AND SCHEDULE A EVEN i did not get any request after that call ! Finally CIC started my background check 1 week after they received them. I advised you to send police checks now even you did not have any request.

So my partner has received AOR but we can’t seem to link his application to his my CIC profile. It just keeps saying no application found. Has any one else had this issue and resolved it???

Yes. If you apply outland, then your husband will have to go for an interview in Germany. Inland in this regard would be better since he can come over on a visitors visa and you can then sponsor him. 3-4 months in he will get his work permit provided the application is complete and all the fees are paid. This process however would take about a year.

Have you considered having your husband apply through Express entry? If he qualifies and has accumulated enough points, he would get his PR in about 6 months.
Express entry wasn’t even a consideration for us and in all honesty I didn’t know it was an option and just assumed the family class would be easiest for us.
That was what has been recommended by a few people ( one immigration consultant included and was additionally informed there is a chance to already get an open work permit on arrival by cbsa).

Additionally - a trip back to Germany will be required after a few months - would this be problematic if our application is underway ? It would just be a couple of weeks maximum.
I find it unreal how complicated this whole process is - although they mention it’s easy enough to do all the paperwork yourself.

Thanks again for any tips!!

thanks...as a pharmacist (health field), will she be restricted from working as a pharmacist (ie, there will be a condition placed not allowing her to work in health field) without a medical exam having been done?

Seems like it coudl be that way for an OWP in general, but not sure in a spousal PR application situation.
If you haven't taken an upfront medical exam before you send the owp application, your wife will be restricted from working in the health field. To remove those conditions she'll need to take the medical exam and send a new owp application.

Hey guys,

Just joining the group as me and my partner submitted the inland common-law application yesterday.
It arrived today and now its wait and watch.

Question is, she has study permit expiring on Jan 31. Do we need to apply for extension or visitor visa?
Or is she in implied status?
From what I read in CIC website, she needs to have valid status while application is processed. Is that correct?
We have also added the OWP application with "Initial work permit or work permit with new employer" ticked as she has owp (co-op) with expire date of Jan 31 too. But she stopped working after graduation as implied by the co-op terms.
If you included an OWP application along with your sponsorship application, then yes, you will be on implied status. If you didn't include an OWP application, only then would your status expire when your study permit and co-op work permit expire (Jan 31). If you also needed a visa (TRV) foil on your passport, then I'm guessing that too will expire on Jan 31 along with the two permits. If that's the case, then you cannot re-enter Canada on an OWP only, you need a TRV to re-enter. So if you think you will leave Canada an have to re-enter, then you should apply for an extension of the TRV only. If you won't leave Canada while the PR is in process, then you don't need a TRV, the OWP alone gives you implied status and you can work as you wait for the PR app.

Ah, that sucks.

Typically it takes 4 months for the OWP - if we get the medical done and re-submit, will it take another 4 months to get the restriction lifted?

More and more I feel like an inland application was not the way to go...I can't recall if outland was still an option (I believe it used to be) - wonder if that is being processed faster....
