Hi,

There is following addition in my "in process" status.

  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on June 16, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on July 20, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on August 10, 2017.
  4. We sent you correspondence on September 1, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

I am thinking its finger print request. Its updated in my spouse's and my status.

Could this be anything else other than FP request?
How long usually it will take for mail to reach us as I am travelling on Sep 12th for 2 months and this is a long weekend?
Is there anyone who has got FP done from Regina, Sk? Please share some details from where and how to get this step done in Regina?

TIA!

Yes dear,
Step no. 4 is 100% a fingerprint request, because I received exactly the same update 3 months ago. For mail it depends on Canada post, it will take from 10-14 days to get it. When you receive the letter you must immediately show in any RCMP office or go the RCMP third party in order to get it as soon as possible because when RCMP receive it, it will take 4 days to verify it, then they will forward the result to CIC office.

they will call you within those weeks depending on how fast or late they get info, if they are getting info within Canada etc RCMP, CBSA maximum for them to get answer is 15 business days, if they get by electronically from RCMP its maximum 5 business days assuming how slow bureaucrats are for them to get review clearance and extra one day for them to call u. if they are getting information from foreign land then I wouldn't surprised if it will take 1 to 3 months.

Hello everyone! My wife and I took our Citizenship test on February 20th. We both passed and the interview was straightforward. The CIC agent mentioned that my wife's security hasn't cleared yet and we might get a request for fingerprints. We got the letter on the same day we passed the test. She got her fingerprints taken on the 24th of February and RCMP sent them over to CIC the following week. We called CIC to confirm if they received the fingerprints and they mentioned that it might take up to a month to show up in their system. My questions are:
1. Has anyone had the same thing happen to them? What was your experience and timeline?
2. How long does it take for CIC to actually receive the fingerprints and update it in their system?
3. Does this extra step (after we took the citizenship test) add a lot of extra time to our application processing time?
Thanks all!
First do they get info from foreign country than canada?
Secondly, Did they tell you Canada or USA interior clearance etc RCMP or FBI?

If its inside Canada clearance it should maximum 1 month and minimum 5-6 business days answer from them.

Another question here. Will RCMP send results directly to CIC office or we will receive them from RCMP and then forward it to CIC?

Thanks for this information but why they will be getting information from foreign lands? Can you give example of such case please?

i heard mostly form people in toronto, missisauga etc that it goes to st. clair office in toronto,,As you are in Regina I don't know where it goes in your case...
I have no clue. Im wondering if that letter doesnt come before sep 12 then i might have to get FPs done from Toronto coz i will be staying in toronto for 2 months starting sep 12. I dont know how it will work in that case.

Thanks Matin_71.
Another question here. Will RCMP send results directly to CIC office or we will receive them from RCMP and then forward it to CIC?
Exactly,
After the RCMP verify your clear result, they will automaticlly forwarding the document to cic, then you will be placed in the long queue.

Till now I never hear from anybody (here or outside the web-site) about the estimated real time-frame regarding the security-criminality-prohibition check (the procedure after fingerprint been requested), any idea guys?

Hi All, I did my fingerprints today at Calgary so please do you know how long does it take to be sent to IRCC?
Also while doing the fingerprints the clerk showed me the screen to check if my name and DOB is correct and I found out a spelling mistake so she corrected it and had to do some process to ensure the system has the correct information. This made me so worried that maybe there are more errors made by her which I don’t know!! Luckily I checked by my eyes that she entered the right UCI & application number. Also she passed my driving license through a device which I don’t know (maybe scanner?).
Is it possible that they can make errors in the fingerprints which can delay our fingerprints? Or they rely on UCI? They rely on our documents? Human error is always a possibility
Would you please advise if you have any information?
