Hi there, may I ask you to share your timeline (ITA, AOR, MED, BIO etc.) - we also applied from Quebec stream a while ago and stuck since March after providing additional documents.. Thank you in advance!

Hi all,

I didn’t want to create a new thread so I figured I’ll ask here quickly.
After becoming PR through the Canadian Experience Class, does a person need to work under the same NOC they used in the application, or can they have a complete change of career and work any job?

Thanks,

I believe that as a PR you can work in your desired field. The only caveat I can think if is if you are contracted for a particular length of time with your current employer, then you're obligated to that just as any other citizen or PR.

From my understanding, If you didn't apply through Provincial Nominee or LMIA you do not have to remain with your current employer.
You are free to switch employer.

Even if a PR have had an LMIA-based job offer at some point but no provincial nomination or stream-specific conditions, they are free to change employers at will.

And even most PNP streams only require you to live in the nominating province (for two years, that's a typical RCIC recommendation), so only a handful of streams effectively have employment restrictions for a period of time.

My dependant has received her Portal 2 email (June 4, 2025) - both are inland applications. However I have not received my P2 email yet - been 2 week, IRCC agent stated that all information has been provided, no update.

Is anyone else in the same boat, and any timeline on primary applicant Portal 2 delays, if any?
