So frnds after long wait n ahving lots of discusion on this form i reached canada brampton
i thnkx to all my frnds who help me alot ..

i have litle more quesiton..

1. how much time it take to reach my PR card
2. n i want to access my indian studies so is there any agency how acces my foregin credential free of cost...as i know there are many organizations which access foreign credentisl but they charge lots of money..
so please tell me where i go to access my credential for free..

3. if i want to study den will governmnet give me money or help me to study..
4. where i go to get job..name some agencies...thnks alot..

or any other sugestion or views for new comers in canada..please...frnds help me..

1. My wife got her card around 8-10 weeks i think. they have a backlog and it is slower than what the website says.
2. NO, there is a charge. No one evaluates the degree for free, U of T, WES they all charge around 150$, not sure if it is free outside GTA. Remember once u immigrate u will find
that everything here costs $, one reason they need more immigrants. Nothing is free for people who like to work and make a living here.
3. U need to be here for at least 6 months to get OSAP i think, not sure. Depends on how much $ ur spouse is making to get a loan.
4. Online - Monster.ca or workopolis.ca you will find everyone there, there are hundreds of consultancies here in GTA.

The only free stuff which they offer is the
Language Specific Occupation Training
French

Not heard abt other stuff.
Remember, the economy is slowing down again..so things will be a bit hard to start.
Don give up hope.

My wife is taking a once a week class for 3 months i guess.
It is beginner only.
Hey come on, they need to make more $....it is just cos it is a official language.

It all depends in which part of Canada you live. If you are planning on living in Quebec then definetely good idea otherwise no use (but knowledge is not a bad thing).

Other places require you to know french is government jobs, but you can't really apply for those because you have to canadian citizen first and be living in Canada for at least 10 years.

Federal Govt - Bilingual preferred
Ontario provincial govt jobs - English is more than enough and anyone can score a job not just citizens. Citizens are preferred only for Federal Govt jobs.

However in some sectors, basic bilingual is always advantageous.

For Ottawa, knowing French is 100% advantageous is what i have seen and been told.

If you were commin to Toronto i would consider that an added advantage.

For Ottawa you have made the right choice
Since it is the Capital, most of the jobs do require English and french knowledge is my guess...or at least gives you a super edge.

Yep! If you are living in the Quebec area, it's better if you learn French, some or more jobs require it

hmmm ...you know what my hubby have oversea plan on his cell phone..so we usually talk all the time..he don't use alarm at all..all the time my call is alarm to him..i always remind him about his gym,his car service etc..cos number of times he forgets..its going to be two years next month of being together

ya my love story is not at all less then bollywood film..its has love,drama, and evil personalities who were against our marriage everything..will tell u this story over chat...what say ??

I am from Toronto, my husband is in Georgia. WE got married there. but are moving to Toronto. He is in US on work permit. and they have sent his application to Delhi. What about you?? whats ur time line?

Hey! I don't have a timeline yet because my lawyer in Toronto is still looking over our application before sending it out. We got married in Georgia as well, and I'm also here on a work permit basis! Is your husband going back to New Delhi? Or has he gone back already?
