Hello fellow Inlanders!

Got a really good news today!! My husband got his open work permit today in the mail dated August 15, 2012! Yay!! Finally! No other letter though but remarks on the paper says: "Application for permanent resident status has received. Initial Approval". Is this an AIP then? Or do we need the actual AIP letter to get SIN and Medical. We checked E-cad but no update yet.

Thank God! He was so happy that he wants to go to work right now!! Haha!

his open work permit will get him his SIN # what province r u in, I am in Ontario and was able to get my SIN with it( OWP) now he can also apply for OHIP. but will need a drivers license, passport and his OWP to do that.

congrats you can pay it at the office most people do not sure about the delay time just make sure you keep your receipt if you do pay online and take it with you to the interview good luck and congrats

Thank you so much!! We'll go to service Canada tomorrow for SIN and also will fax the MSP application tomorrow. We are from BC... Hopefully we'll get our second stage approval pretty soon.. Good luck everyone!

May I ask how long it took for the Montreal office to contact you after receiving your DM letter?

They are actually working on October applicants! Change to October 7, hope to hear from October applicants for update

This is crazy!!! So its been 2 weeks now since CIC have updated the dates to 20 September 2011 and for 2 weeks that's where its staying??? Wish we can get some AIP's in so that we know what the real timeline is! This waiting is getting way to much! And even when we get AIP we are still in for who knows how many months!

They just updated again. It now says that they're working on applications received on October 7, 2011.
I know that my application is still very far away since I only sent it in February of this year, but I regularly check ecas and the Processing Times, hoping that somehow miraculously they would speed up the process...

Hi, i just recieved the result of my foss notes today after 1 month of waiting, i just dont really understand, lots of activities they were saying, what is the difference between security screening and criminality, if they said due date is that what they called bring forward? As ive seen medical it says due date 2012-12-27? Please help me understand this thanks in advance

:-X :'( today is a bad day i call cic they said my pcc was revived on july 24 th now today i called they say it was revived on aug fist with my pr fee this is soo stressful my husband and kids are planing there dec trip back home and i so want to go with them but this second stage is taking for ever oh my goodness now i guess that change of time frame means more wait time for me oh well my bf date is the 24 of aug with is Friday so i will not even be looking out for any thing at this point am going up i just want to leave immigration put such a stress on your life no work no school just felling useless

I can definitely relate to how you feel (as many others probably can, too). Immigration is stressful enough without the limitations of not being able to work, travel, drive, etc. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time...it'll be behind us all soon enough.
