Hi All,

I have had the following work experiences:
11th Dec 2009 - 23rd Dec 2013 in India
7th March 2016 - 8th July 2016 in the US
22nd Aug 2016 - 7th April 2018 in the US
30th April 2018 - Present in the US

Of the above, the second period between 7th March 2016 - 8th July 2016 was a job which I did not enjoy and as such I did not perform well at. If I seek an experience letter from this company, I dont think they would have great things to write about me (they might actually have something negative to talk about). On the other hand, the rest of the work experiences above have been great and I am not worried about getting work experience letters pertaining to them since I enjoyed the work and all my managers enjoyed working with me.

My question has 2 parts to it:
(a) Since my first period itself fulfills my work experience requirement of 3 or more years and it also falls under last 10 years, do I really need to obtain work experience letters for the other three? I already have a letter for the first period. I dont even mind getting letters for the last 2 periods but can I skip the second one?

(b) Should I still mention the second period in my profile even if I dont provide an experience letter for it?

Please note that I will be creating my Express Entry profile this month (June 2018).

Thanks all.

1 - Depends as to whether they have an impact on your eligibility under the FSW program. That is, whether you fall below the 67 out of 100 points under the six selection factors.

2 - You must mention it in the personal history section. Whether you should mention it in the work history depends on my comment on 1.

I am sorry, I may not be sound understanding the process. Could you elaborate point 1 in your reply above? My CRS comes to 470 if that helps at all.

No, that doesn't help. Follow this link and calculate your score under the six selection factors when counting 3 years of work experience.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...election-factors-federal-skilled-workers.html

Got it. I am at 72 as per this link if I show the experience just for the first job period I originally mentioned.
Also, in this link, can i club the work experiences even if i have gaps between them (I enrolled in a school for my masters from 2014 to 2016). So can the first, third and last periods i originally mentioned make 6 years of work experience? (since theres no use of the word 'continuous' in the link above)

Again, thanks for the reply.

Regarding the work experience under the six selection factors you can only count work experience under your Primary NOC. I do not know if that's the case with the work experiences you want to mention.

Anyway, if your score is truly 72 only with the first job then your eligibility remains unaffected so you're free to only mention that work experience (of course as long as you have 3 years + of work experience so it doesn't affect your CRS either.)

Sweet, Thanks. Yes all of the work experiences have been under my primary NOC (2173)
