Finally received my son's card 46 days after CIC received new photos. My ordeal is finally over. Best of luck to the people who are waiting.

Hi Guys

Can someone please share their experience about this.
I landed in CA and then flew back to my home country before the PR card was issued.
Now CIC wants new photos for the PR card.
At the back of the photos the studio name and the date the photo is taken needs to be written.
Can we send the photos in today's date from the home country?
Has anyone done this for their case and received the PR cards without any issues?
Guys, I need to send the photos and am stuck with this question.
Please share you experience and provide some guidance.

Thanks

Ok, so it's been 45 days..

Landed on 25th of January in Montréal at CIC office, still waiting for PR card. Called CIC today to ask what is the status, they said card is not yet been produced, but suggested to call on 31 of March, if card is not produced by then, then they can send a message to a centre responsible for producing PR cards. I asked if I need to submit new photos, they said no, all looks good.

Waiting.. ::)

Hi,

Did you receive new photos request in your son's name or in your name?

I am waiting for the PRC for my spouse, son and myself. I received new photo re-submission request only for me, should I send their new photos too or wait for a request letter for them?

Hello friends,

Myself Akash landed in Canada on last Oct 20, 2015 and applied for PR card at the Airport and came back to India on Oct 26 2015....I called so many times to CIC in the month of Jan and Feb, and yesterday I received Photos resend request along with form 5455...

I am bit concerned as I am in India these days and need to send my photos where I need to provide Studio address at the back of photos (as required for PR Card Processing)..does CIC make any issue if they received my stamped photos with Indian address not Canadian...

Is any one aware any concerns /issues created by CIC in the past on the cases which is similar to me..?

please update your position.i am in the same situation.

Hi guys,

I'd like to share my story, hope this is helpful to people who may be in the same situation:

I landed on 13th Oct 2015 at Toronto Pearson. The landing went very well, and I remembered the agent at the border told me that my card will be sent to my Canadian address in 3 months.

After a month I had to come back to my home country to wrap everything up before moving to Canada for good. At the time, I hadn't received my card.

I was waiting for 3 months, and in mid Jan 2016, I called the number of CIC to check on the status of my card. The agent told me that there was no application for my PR card on the system. He said there might have been a mistake in the system, or the border agent forgot to submit my application for the card.

I was really worried as I was afraid that the record of landing might even been lost and the whole effort was wasted. Then they asked me for the details of my landing: the number in the stamp on my passport, the flight number, terminal, etc. The agent then told me that he'd send a message to the airport so they will submit my application, but at the time, all I could do was waiting.

I then waited for a week, and when I checked the ECAS status, the status of my card application finally showed up. However, it said that they sent me a correspondence (which I doubted was the photo request). Again, I was freaking out so I called the number of cic again and asked what was the correspondence as I did not receive anything via email. The agent said it was actually photo request.

I then had to take photos in my home country and sent to them via courier. The photo reached Case Processing Centre on 03 Feb 2016. Finally the card reached my Canadian address on 08 Mar 2016.

I guess the takeaway from my story is:
1. You should call cic as many times as you can during the process to identify any problems and fix them as soon as possible.
2. It is totally ok to have your photo taken outside of Canada, so if anyone is doing that, you can be relaxed.

Hope this helps! I wish you all good luck! :)

Hey Guys,
May it has been replied hundred times before. I need to travel within next couple of weeks. How long it takes to get a travel document while I am waiting for the PR card, not to mention it has been almost six months I have been waiting for the card.

CIC have received my Pics yesterday. I guess 45 days countdown begins.

To Those who got photo request and NOT in canada, its totally fine to take pics outside of canada and sent to CIC. many people have done in this forum and recd PR card. I have personally done that. Hope for the best.

Hope this helps.

What is CIC number to check the PR card status? Can anyone share the number? I want to check if my PR card application is sent.
