Hi Notley...I thought the timing starts from the date of landing..not from the date of card manufacturing..I suppose you landed a couple of month earlier then 2 December 2015..
Hi you are very correct that time frame for PR card starts from date of landing. I landd on 22nd August 2015 but because of retake photo which was sent on 22nd Oct 2015 my card was delayed and printed on 2nd Dec 2015 as mentioned on the card itself. From date of retake photo CIC took 50 days from despatch of retake photo and actual receiving of PR card.

Wife called them this morning (Sep 26 landed), and the card has not yet been shipped. Her return ticket is in few days and we have to move that now and not sure when to. We may have to apply for a travel document but that too could be a month, so we are really hooped.

I think you have to apply travel document out of Canada, which takes 2 to 4 weeks depending on the country.I think travel document is not within canada. Can we apply it with in canada too?

I wonder if one day someone at CIC or the government will realise how utterly stupid this system is? We've just become permanent residents who are supposed to have a set of rights similar to Canadian citizens. But until we get our PR cards in the mail we can't travel without a travel document, and that document can take weeks to obtain so short trips are impossible. I want to go on a 3-4 day trip to the states, but I can't plan it because the system won't allow for it to happen.

Sorry, just ranting. Hopefully we get good news soon!

No. We can only apply TDs in a Canadian Embassy or General Consulate outside of Canada. I contacted the Visa office in New York about two weeks ago, I was told a TD takes 2-30 days to process depends on the volume of current processing cases.

They changed my address and my name 3 to 4 days after landing so I think it has nothing to do with them starting with our application

12 november I have to go back to my country in january for 1 week.
But no pr and no time for travel document.
Lets hope that they speed up the applications after new year

Nothing in the mail box again. I wonder when they shut down for the holidays? Probably this week.

??? :o :(

I gave a call to CIC today. They confirmed my identity and told me that my file still needs to be processed. Hopefully, by the end of December it will go into production and I should expect to receive my PR card by the end of January. :(
