Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

MP = Member of Parliament. Every Canadian has one, according to their address. My husband's MP helped us when CIC messed up, but usually they don't get involved in usual application process, only if there is a big problem.

As I was explained by the call center agent when I called about my PR card, a few months ago, he told me that "processing" of the card actually includes some file checking and what not (didn't specify what), then picture scanning (at this point they decide if the pictures are of a satisfying quality), and then printing. Plus add 1-2 weeks for mailing, because they use the slowest possible mail.

I am not sure, sorry But I remember a few people wrote on the forum that they didn't let them right away, but after they called the CIC call center. I guess they are slow in that, too. My only advice is to keep calling every week or so, they might get upset, but they can't forbid you to call...

Oh sure they can't forbid you to call but I'll definitely need a rehabilitation after making weekly calls to CIC

You will never receive any communication regarding PR card (unless pictures are not good, and even that they tell you late). All of the people here get information through CIC call centre. The only catch is, you can only call after the processing time posted on the CIC web site has passed.

I noticed that too. So every 3 days that site is updated they add 3 calendar days to the chart. At that rate, we'll never receive our PR cards! Did the PR Card printing machine breakdown? The one person who handles all of the PR Card processing in CIC on long leave?

You can call the CIC 1800 number..... And select the options 2...3...2...0
You will be connected to a CIC agent, after a certain wait time.
They can verify and let you know the status of your PR Card, if it has been more than the processing time shown in the CIC website.

This is really frustration
, so apply simple math here
1 week before (5 working days) waiting time was 67 days.
After one week waiting time increased to 72
. so CIC not issued any single PR card in 1 week
What they are in summer vacation mood.

I think they work in batches. So it will increase by 5 days everytime, until they mail out the next batch. Then it will reduce to ~40 days or something again.

Hi Friends,

I just called CIC to check status of my PR card.

Question I asked : Can you please tell me if my PR card is mailed yet?
Answer I got : Keep checking on ECAS status, once the card has been mailed, they would generally update the status with one more line added like " PR Card was mailed on date xxx"

Just to confirm, did any one observe this ?
One who already received the PR card, can you please confirm ?

I landed on Apr 17, waiting for PR Card ...
