Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

One of my family PR card is missed in the postal delivery. Will they issue new card? How much time it takes for the new card delivery?

One of our 3 cards had a different date on it - maybe they are not all processed together?

According to CIC site, it takes 26 days for card to be delivered if a Canadian address was provided. Had been six weeks since I landed. No PR card yet.

Unfortunately, all of us here realized that is not true. It takes 26 days for the PR card file to be processed, then it goes for picture scanning and printing, then they snail mail it. If you call they will tell you it takes about 4-8 weeks (if you're lucky)...

Anyways, I would call at this point if I were you...

I landed on Jan 29th. A lady on the phone call at CIC told me that my PR card was mailed out on March 11th and would arrive by 24th in usual cases. But I still have not received it yet.


Should I be worried in this situation? Anybody has any idea how long it takes for a card to arrive after it has been mailed out?

I am in a situation that I need the card ASAP!

Thanks Goku. So If i am not wrong you received it on March 19th correct?, After landing in Canada did the ECAS status changed?. In mine it is showing as Landed on so and so date and became permanent Resident. and status Complete

Anything will showup there related to PR card processing?.

Yes. Exactly a week ago. Nothing changed on ECAS, same status as yours. I called them on 12th March and at that time it was in printing process, and was also told to call them back if I didn't receive it by 20th March but received it on 19th March instead.

They can give you only approximate delivery time. They snail mail it (regular mail), so how long it takes for it to get delivered depends on where you live. SOME PR cards get lost in mail, but I would wait a few more days before starting to worry about it...

For some people a new section appears in eCas, for PR card, but it's been observed that it appeared for only small percentage of people (<20%). Sometimes it appears and then disappears within the same day, or a few days.To be honest, I wouldn't expect any eCas changes...

For sure. Give them a call on 1-888-242-1000 then go with option 1-2-0 or 1-3-0. Keep trying back to back if you hear "Cannot transfer to an agent" message.

You should probably call again and find out to which address it was mailed, since it's passed the time they gave.

Getting your PR card could take anytime up to 6-8 weeks (and sometimes more). As Goku noted, you can call CIC and find out where it is in the process.
