Not sure if we all come on this thread because we are now desperate to get the PR card to be processed after such a long time as we landed in a very similar period of time. I wonder the criteria for going the extra verification.

I landed on 15th November
And I gave a new address for PR card delivery
My ecas status was updated on 17th nov showing application complete and also my new address reflected as home address while old address was shpwn as mailing address.
I have called the helpdesk this morning and the call center guy said that he does not see my new addreds at all. He said it was good that I called. He also said I can expect the card by end of December

I have been waiting almost for a month, so I guess I can't complaint. The good thing about all this, is that the PR card is not our status itself, but only a mere instrument used to prove our status. Which means we all should take a deep breath and relax, we are already PR.
One solutions for all the people who live close to the border to the US and need to go out of Canada and come back, is catching your flight from the US. You don't need a PR card (Only COPR) if you are driving a private vehicle crossing from the states. I am planning on flying back to Seattle, rent a car and drive back to Vancouver.

FYI all.
My PR card was delivered in an envelope cleared marked with 'DO NOT FORWARD/REDIRECT'
So I suggest that no-one relies on a mail forwarding service if they change their address without telling CIC.
It is obvious that the letter is from immigration services, as a whole bunch of stuff is clearly visible through the clear plastic window.

The call centre just says it is approved in with the production centre for printing.

I am planning on doing this if I haven't received my PR card by January. I didn't have a US visa until last Friday when I applied for this propose and other travel plans I have in the near future.
There's a second option, you can always go back to India, and apply for a "Travel Document" at the Canadian embassy or consulate. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp
