I really hope you are right, but I'm not sure. I'm not concern about the airline won't let you on the plane. How about the boarder services at US, they still gonna stamp on your passport. Would they stop you from getting on the plane?

This is exactly the situation I am considering.

I will be flying out to China on Jan 27. YVR-SFO-PEK. Then on Feb 24 to Portland on a business trip, YVR-PDX.
So in both cases, it will be US airports to check my documents. I do think I can use my work visa because:
1. The work visa is not crossed out or expired, so the airline wouldn't know I am a PR.
2. US airports do not check documents for outgoing passengers.
3. Once I arrive at YVR, I should be able to enter Canada using my CoPR.

Am I correct on this?

I am planning to do this anyway, because I don't have time to apply for Travel Docs for both trips anyway. Flying to SEA is an option but I only want to change the flight if the airline does not allow me to board (which I think is really unlikely). Changing at the last minute vs changing now doesn't make much difference anyway, SFO-SEA is always under $150. As long as I make it to YVR, CBSA doesn't have a reason to refuse my entry.

Got my PR card this morning :)

US doesn't examine outgoing passengers. They won't stamp you. They don't care where you are going.

Processing time is 61 days now :(
I postponed my travel to Feb first week thinking i would get it by then. I cant bear this any more.

Good News!!!One of the forum members applied for travel doc from India and got it in 7 days...from the day the application was received at the consulate. I am going to do the same once I reach India...

Congrats! Such a great news! Now, I know they are actually working on it, rather than stop on our cases completely

Are you sure about them not paying attention where you go? If they are interested on your telephone conversation. why wouldn't they be interested on your travel itinerary?

They definitely track where you go by your plane ticket. But I've never been checked visas etc by an US official. Sometimes the airline staff need to check my document before I board the plane, but that's airline staff only.

Since i called them today is the 9 day. any one know how many days usually CIC takes to resend PR card including postal duration? My address in Ottawa. Approx how many days it may take. and shall i call them tomorrow on 10 day?

Please suggest.

So finally i called them yesterday as per the calling instruction and could reach them as well. they said my Card was returned back due to address issue. I was surprised. it seems one small mistake has happened. they have put apt. number in my wife's and son's address but mine one was missing. Anyway, the lady said the instruction has already given to resend the card at my address. Now i just pray i will get that without any more surprise.

Got my PR card too.
