I landed on 15th December... waiting for PR card. They said we will mail you in 6 to 8 weeks..

I'm on hold right now. The automated recording said that the processing time has come down to 66 days (still says 71 on the website).

I'll let you guys know soon what they have to say.

I hope so too! If the processing time is actually 66 days that means I'm 17 days overdue. So no excuses for Canada Post this time either!

Just done my call ,as today is my second time that processing time expired for me( landed 11th of October Vancouver) first time when I called (dec5th ) they told me to expect around 25th of December,now..
The lady say that they are a mont short that my app is OPEN what ever that mean, and that I should except around mid January :/ what ever ... I don't need to go anywhere ( out of Canada) but it's sad becouse of people that need to go expecialy if they book airticket already :/

So I guess when I call them in January they'll say I can expect my card some time in February.

This is bloody ridiculous.

Idk if you know but the refugees that landed about week-2 ago they get PR card , helth card etc on airport ... So ... They was preorety , and app was open for then around October .. For me that's look like that we are a mont shorter becouse of that situation .. I do apologize if I didn't get correct info and it's just mine thinking why only from end of sept up to now we wait extra. . :/

I don't think the refugees would have had a huge impact, although it's impossible to tell for sure. The delay I think is more because they changed the system over to the new style of cards and put all processing on hold while they did it. Then as we all know too well, once a backlog at CIC builds up it can take a long time for them to work through it.
