We applied online. I don't know exactly for what type of WP we applied. Because when you do that online you have a lot of questions to answer and after we only signed the forms the system requested. But there was a question about the PR.

The current processing time for an online WP is 30 days..so you should be expecting your WP soon in a week...

May be yes and may be no. They can refuse in work permit because of issuing the PR visa. My husband had that two years ago. But he wrote that got married 3 days ago and so they asked for my docs. Also have a friend who was refused in WP because of the same reason. They only send him a cheque for $150 that he paid for WP.

The office reviewing your WP application will have a complete overview of your status based on your client ID. So I would not think that your WP will be rejected even if you are almost close to your PR visa issuance..

Bohdana, why not take ur passport request documents from cic and a letter confirming that ur eligibility for cec and show it to employer. let them know that ur cec process is almost over and u will soon become a pr and also that ur permanent resident visa is on the way and will soon get to u maybe in a week or less. seeing all the documents u will give them, I don't think u will loose the job offer. This is my opinion. Not sure whether u tried that but I am just saying

I've done. Showed all the letters and said that I can legally work in Canada after the expiration WP day. Said that they can check that on the CIC web page. But nothing. They don't want to do that! Indeed, their request is illegal, they can't refuse me because of this reason. But they are bosses)))
