Posted on the high commission page. Everything they blame on COVID.
Canadian Immigration and Citizenship recognizes that many visitor visa applicants around the world are experiencing delays with their application. This is mainly due to the long-term impacts of global processing disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and current resources being diverted to processing priority lines of business, such as applications for essential workers and the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET).
We understand that longer than expected processing times can be stressful and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. We are doing our best to respond to volumes of applications that are much higher than normal and we are working on new measures to address these issues. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
