I submitted the entire application package to CIO-Nova Scotia. On that application, I selected Manila as our visa office...We did our med exam in Sharjah..
Note: CEM instructed us through email to undergo med examination.

Ha? I did not know that that is possible. I should have done the same thing. ADVO processes applications a lot longer than CEM. We mentioned ADVO as visa office. When CEM advised you to do the medicals, were they specific on which hospital? Does CEM know that you are currently residing in UAE?

Q: When CEM advised you to do the medicals, were they specific on which hospital? NO. We were the one who selected the physician (from the list of recognized physician here in UAE_CIC website). It just happened that Sharjah is the nearest place in our area.

Q: Does CEM know that you are currently residing in UAE?
I believe CEM is indeed aware that we are currently residing in UAE as it is reflected in our application forms.

HOPE THIS HELPS PO!! :)

HELLO THERE CARL ZEISS!!!

DID CEM ASK YOU TO SUBMIT UPDATED NBI/POLICE CLEARANCE?
THANKS!

Hello there Rak. In my case I was not asked to submit updated NBI certificates. However, there are some applicants who are already waiting for PPR but instead, CEM asked for updated NBI clearance.

You just can't tell how the guys in CEM handle our papers. Good luck!

HELLO THERE CARL ZEISS!!!

DID CEM ASK YOU TO SUBMIT UPDATED NBI/POLICE CLEARANCE?
THANKS!

If I may RAK,

CEM/VO will usually ask for updated police clearance certificates from countries the applicant has resided for more than 6mos. In many cases, due to the length of time processing applications, the Police Clearance (or NBI) has already expired by the time CEM comes to complete your security checks. So a request to resubmit updated NBI certificates is sent by CEM. Often the request for PCC/NBI comes with the MR, if you have not been requested for updates - lucky you :)

/tuloy-tuloy lang.....best of luck...

ano po ba address ang embassy sa manila? ang nakalagay lang po kasi sa letter nila sa akin Economic Immigrant Unit, Immigration Section, Manila. Yan na po ba yung address nila?ang sabi kc sa letter, For the Embassy address, refer to the upper right hand corner of this letter, wala naman dun yung address. Nagrequest po kc sila ng new NBI clearance, issued within last six months, ang problem ko is andito ako sa Canada, and kailangan ko na naman po bang manguha ng bagong NBI? Kasi it took me two months nung manguha ako ng bago, they are asking for police clearance din and RPRF. wala pa rin passport request. :(

hello phoem,
Just sharing…
Dont worry, mabilis na din ang processing ng ADVO. i've got my visa issued by ADVO for only 9months (starting from the time I submitted the file to CIO). Based on my experience, after receipt of the AOR from ADVO( nakalagay na din dun if they require additional documents) MR agad kasunod within a month +/-, then after your Med Result is received at LVO (London), kasunod na agad PassPort Request (within a month +/-)…then your PR visa will be issued within 10 working days by ADVO.. so to wrap it up 3-4 months lang talaga ang procesing ng AD from AOR-ADVO to PRVisa issuance, it just takes longer pag may mga additional docs request or may additional medical test.

Good luck and God bless!

Address is taken from the manila.gc.ca site: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/contact-contactez.aspx?lang=eng&view=d
Now to make sure your correspondence goes to the proper unit, always prefix the group as specified in your letter before the address. In your case:

Embassy of Canada
Economic Immigrant Unit, Immigration Section

Levels 6-8, Tower 2
RCBC Plaza
6819 Ayala Avenue
Makati City 1200

Postal Address
P.O. Box 2168
Makati Central Post Office
Philippines 1261

Rule of thumb is if you are requested to provide the added docs - comply and provide them :)
There are ways you can apply for an NBI clearance from here in Canada, either get a form from the nearest PH Consulate office and have your fingerprints taken by an RCMP office nearby, or you get a form via an authorized representative in the PH and they send it to you. See nbi.gov.ph FAQs for more details:

Oh hey Ragluf, you've landed already :) how was your experience?

thanks ragluf, yesterday nakareceived ako ng email from CEM asking for new nbi, police clearance and RPRF then they gave me 60 days to provide it. today nakareceived na naman ako ng letter from CEM passport request naman, which is a good news but they only gave me 30 days to send it to them. i am confused! panu kung hindi ko maprovide ung nbi ko within 30 days? and another question, kapag send ko ba yung passport kelangan ko rin ba maglagay ng prepaid envelope for the return of my passport?ano po ba gagawin? thanks
