Thank you for your reply :)

I was not sure if I could or not. Phew! Can breathe a bit now... Just seemed pointless for us to get a new contract with a new house in August and them be leaving once I get COPR. Would I tell them at customs that I am waiting out for my COPR or just pretend im visiting for a few months? haha sorry for the questions but those immigration officers can be a tad intimidating!
Just be completely honest with them at customs. Explain that you have an application for PR pending in London (they'll most likely see that anyway when they check your background out), and that you're intending to wait out the rest of your time in Canada. I'd recommend getting a return ticket so that you can ensure them that you have the means to leave should you need to do so, and/or a bank statement with proof of funds.

They may or may not ask you for this stuff, but it's best to be up-front, prepared and honest.

You'll have no problems!

You and us, both... I used to be really chilled before all of this. Now my blood pressure is up and I am turning into a grumpy old man...

<rant> When we did this in reverse, so that my Canadian wife could come to join me in the UK, it was efficient, pleasant and FAST. The British High Commission in Ottawa actually phoned her in Toronto to conduct an interview, rather than make her travel to see them. From start to finish, it took no more than 6 weeks to get her UK Spousal Sponsorship approved and the Entry Clearance vignette installed in her passport. She landed only two months after we were married. Chalk and cheese... </rant>
I feel your pain (plus it doesn't cost nearly as much). Makes me believe that although our public service could certainly pull their socks up, compared with most other public services throughout the world, ours isn't too bad. And that is a frightening thought.

I'm trying to think of it that way!

You have pretty much the same timeline as me, so I'm sure they are looking at your file too...you probably just filled it out right the first time so they haven't had to contact you for more info!
I don't know about that.. I'm going to give it another month or two before I start hoping they start processing my file. And I'm quite sure they will contact me about something.. :D

I think it's time to ask them if they are missing anything. Make up a reason ( you have a wedding coming in Canada where you'd really like your husband to attend and were wondering what is the tenttive timeline etc) and send them a CSE... nothing to loose!

Thanks, Sweden. We've e-mailed them four times (maybe that's why they're taking a long time!). They got a strongly worded e-mail from my consultant today (they ignored the last e-mail from me). I thought I was done paying my consultant's bills, but apparently not.

Hey everyone :) Since I put in my application back in September 28th, I've been mainly holding tight.

I too got the request for additional information for question 8 on personal history as I'd missed out a month (!). I got this back to them a few months ago, but am now a month past my expected date of receipt. Tell me: has there been a general slow down at the VO do we think? It's been 6 months since my sponsor was approved, seems like I should be hearing something around now?

What I really came here to ask was if anyone else had any issues logging into the system to check their application: I haven't checked for a while but it seems like everything has changed! I used my UCI and application number, but it couldn't retrieve my application :( anyone else having these issues? Is there some trick I don't know about? I'm currently checking here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp

EDIT: Ah - I should have been using my SPONSOR'S name and DoB not mine, the applicant... so confusing :) But I go in- well at least it is in process.

Perhaps you can up date the spreadsheet? My details are on line 110 of the spreadsheet, and it looks like I got an "In Process" status as of March 19, 2013. However also please update my line to say that they requested the additional information regarding my personal history from me, and it took me 30 days to get it back to them.

Thanks!

Still waiting for our first 2013 "in process" I see. Looking at the spreadsheet is it right to assume they are dealing with Dec/Jan apps?

I am a Feb 2013 applicant - they haven't updated me to in process but they are looking at my file, because they requested additional info on June 3rd

Our big concern is that we are now sent back to the bottom of the "pending" pile because of the unwarranted information request.

Sigh...

My concern too...but I guess there's no way to know! And it's not even a nice sunny day to distract me from worrying!

Hi there,

We are "In Process" on ECAS!

Today was the first time I have seen it, but it says that it went in process on May 28 (for anyone who'd like to update the spreadsheet.

Great timing as we sold our home and move into our temporary pre-Canada accommodation in two days!
