Happy News...After the long wait, finally i got mail for (PPR) Passport Request for my son...!!! Please see the timeline below.

* 10-July 2017 - Application Submitted
* 10-Aug 2017 - Acknowledgement received by email
* 31-Aug 2017 - Medical Request Letter received via postal mail to my Canada Address
* 10-Sep 2017 - Medical Status updated in website
* 18-Sep 2017 - Got mail that document received by NDVO and they started processing
* 16-Jan 2018 - Got mail from NDVO that they started processing and will communicate by MAY-JUNE 2018
* 22-Jan-2018 - Got the mail for Passport request (PPR) along with 2 recent photos.

P.S: I did not apply for any TRV. This is the usual processing time. It has taken around 7 months.(Son's Age - 6 months at the time of application). Hope this helps other applicants. All the best...!!!

Guys, finally after a wait of 8 months got PPR Email today. So relieved and wishing the very best for all those who are waiting for it . I am a June 2017 applicant. However,I applied for a TRV in Dec 2017. Believe that will get nullified now.

Update and HELP Please to understand. I checked my account and it said updated, so when I went there it said they had begun background check, good news!
However when I went to eCas(check my status, CIC) which is usually a day or two behind my account, it said Decision Made, no details there when I click it though.
Is one a mistake? Can someone shed some light please.

Actually here's an UPDATE! It wasn't a mistake, Rec'd PPR this morning!!!!

I am in the process of sponsoring my wife -- sent outland application May 2017. Still awaiting her PR -- file with Manila office.

My wife had a child (I am NOT the biological father) in August 2017. I only found out about the child's birth in Dec 2017. Yes my wife had an affair while we were married. According to the child's birth certificate the father is unknown.

What is the best process to bring the child to Canada?
Who should be the sponsor?
When can the paperwork start - given my wife has not received any PR status.
Can my wife be the sponsor when she lands in Canada (hopefully soon)
Can I sponsor my wife's child?

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Add the child to the application as accompanying dependent. Your wife has to get the father of the child to fill in and sign IMM5604 and have it notarized and draft up a letter that is also to be sign by the father and notarized. That he agreed to the child moving to Canada and give the mother full custody of the child. May sure the additional letter is accompanying IMM5604 as they will request it later.

will look at amending the application -- but my fear is that this will cause more delay in getting my wife to Canada. Already waited 8 months to get this far. We have agreed that she will move to Canada without the child for the first little while.

Yes adding this child will cause delay but the child has to be still added as non-accompanying dependent otherwise she will never be able to sponsor the child. So you might as well do everything now and let the child accompany the mother when its time for landing. Father's name on birth certificate or not she either do what we talked about before (FILL FORM AND LETTER) or she provides a court document the she has full custody of the child. She did not make the baby on her own. So CIC will want that area cleared. You can not say you are the father because the child was born outside of Canada and your name is not on the birth certificate AND a DNA test will be requested. Good Luck and prepare that you will wait a little longer as there has to be an amendment to the application weather baby accompany mother now or join her later.

Hi everyone. My husband has applied for his 3 children to come from Jamaica. Application was received on Nov 16, 2017. AOR Received January 15, 2018. We have linked the applications and it shows medicals passed June 1, 2017. Medicals were completed for my husband's PR approval as non accompanying. Can anyone give me an estimated time? My husband received his PR August 2017 and he was a August 2016 applicant.

So, I got an update last week.
And when I checked, it was the Medical request. Thank God.
(I guess attaching the medical info along with the application - meds done for the intitial TRV, could have made this delayed medical request.)

I have got the med appointment for tomorrow. Will do that and then see. Really hoping to have this application process and approved asap.

Ok so here is my time line for my husbands three children from Jamaica.

Application received cpc Mississauga 17/11/16
Aor 18/01/15
SA 18/01/30
Medicals passed on system from JUNE 17
File being transferred to Kingston JA 18/02/06

Looks like this is going fast. Any guess what to expect next? Children are all under 18.
