Hello to everyone, I hope there will be good news for everyone soon. We all deserved it.

- On July 29, we applied for SP and OWP with my wife online. (We applied for Autumn 2020. However, we postponed it to Winter 2021 and still haven't notified ircc)

- On 7 August biometrics delivered.

- On September 18, we received the first stage Aip approval via mail.

I have been accepted to the Master program at Carleton university and I am on the approved DLI list. I have AIP since September 18th. However, I didn't want to start the fall of 2020 online and make a deposit. I postponed winter 2021 and need to report this to ircc?

hello,

If your deferred for more than 150days then you have to contact IRCC, if not you don't need to.

Just calculate the number of dates between your program previous 'start date' (Autumn semester 2020) and your program present 'start date' (Winter Semester 2021). if it is MORE THAN 150 days you need to contact IRCC by sending a webform with your new acceptance letter attached to it.

all the best. :)

Hello

I hope we hear good news soon.

According to this topic, you need to inform IRCC via web form with new LOA. If they send you wrong visa that starts in September, it may be a problem for you. But as @natase said, normally you don't need to inform them if it is less than 150 days. It is a bit confusing:)

I hope it helps.

Thank you for the answer. Does this affect the evaluation of the visa negatively?

The Government of Canada has announced changes to travel restrictions affecting those intending to study in Canada.
If you are a representative, please let your clients know about this important information.

You are receiving this notification because you have applied to study in Canada and passed the first-stage eligibility assessment.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has presented a number of challenges worldwide, Canada’s approach is aimed at protecting the health of Canadians and its residents while minimizing the economic and social impact of the health and travel restrictions.

After October 20, 2020, international students may travel to Canada only if they:

  • have a valid study permit or letter of introduction, and
  • will be attending a designated learning institution (DLI) with a COVID-19 readiness plan approved by the province or territory they are going to and listed on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website
With first-stage approval, your application is not yet finalized and you don’t have a valid study permit or letter of introduction. Until you receive final approval, you are not permitted to travel to Canada.

If you receive final approval, you will only be permitted to travel to Canada if your DLI is on the list of DLIs that have a COVID-19 readiness plan that has been approved by the province or territory where the DLI is located.

Measures are in place to allow you to maintain eligibility for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program if you are studying online from abroad. We encourage you to review the IRCC website to receive the most up-to-date information affecting international students, including the list of DLIs that have an approved COVID-19 readiness plan. This list is updated regularly.

Thank you,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

I got the same e-mail yesterday.

We are just waiting our DLIs to get into the approved list. After that, they will send PPRs.

I am hoping to see my DLI in the list by the next update. :)
