Im curious about your timeline.

I applied for Abu Dhabi office as well and when my spouse went to get her meds done, the clinics in UAE requested a letter from the Visa office that officially invites the applicant for the meds. I submitted everything without the meds and the file was transferred back in October. Was this the same case with you in regards to med?

Did they ask for any additional documents? As far as I know, our relationship was genuine and all the proof was there in a very organized manner. My spouse also studied in Canada so there wont be any issue, hopefully.

But your time line is very reasonable for someone who had all the documents readily available. If the same time line applies to me, my spouce will receive her documents by April, hopefully.

In answer to your question to Scoobydoo33, for Family Class Applicants, you can go for upfront medical so you can include the Medical Confirmation document along with your application. Else you will have to wait for a Medical Request from CIC at a later stage which may cause delays. If you submit everything at once, hopefully the process should go through smoothly. The medical done is valid for a year too....

Once you are done with your medical, you will be given a confirmation with a UMI number which you need to Include in your application and the results will be uploaded to the centralized system so that when the VO is working on your file he can link your medical report to your application as it will be available online,

Thanks for the response. I have taken similar steps but it was the clinics that were listed asked me to bring in the "med form reqeust letter" from the embassy. Embassy mentioned this will be produced when they evaluate the missing documents for my file. Since scoobydoo mentioned a similar procedure, i was curious to know if this is the same case with him/her

in my case, we waited for the medical request from the VO.

As you can see on my timeline, we applied under conjugal partner sponsorship and we go through step by step, from complete payment (sponsor & applicant's fee) but not with the medical because I checked here in Bahrain that they needed the medical request from Abu Dhabi Office and we considered as well the processing time that was 19-20months last year but recently reduced to 18months.

Just keep on praying guys, VOs' are working faster nowadays.

hello. I called Dubai London clinic and asked me the same thing. Then i checked again the other clinic which is Health Bay in um suqeim they said no need to wait for the request from the embassy. I just went there and paid everything. It took me 1 week for them to inform me that they have forwarded the papers to cic.

Even I went to Health Bay Clinic in Jumeirah and got my medicals done in Oct 2013. Submitted my application in Dec 2013.

Dont worry, if they havent received your medical they will definitely request for it officially and you can submit it then. Since it is available online it shouldnt take them long to link it to your file.

Yes she qualifies as a sponsor. She is a nurse there and been in Canada for around 6 years. She will be completing her required number of days this march to apply for her citizenship. There isnt any problem with her qualifying as a sponsor as she earning well, has her taxes and savings in place.

student visa could get you there early... but u will have to lie and stuff... dun really recommend that... i chose the regular spouse sponsorship... it will take time.. but i will at least get there on a genuine way... i'd rather wait a lil and stay authentic than rushing the go and fake stuff... dun rush it.. u could bring ur wife to kuwait and wait if that's an option... i am doing that right now... f*** CA immigration.. i got a job here and enjoying my life wid my wife... just weigh and see which option better suits you... after all once you go to CA its not that you will get a job right away... we often fail to realize what we need... happiness or money/standard of living...

Scoobydoo, thanks for the information. Conjugal partner and spousal sponsorship are not that different in terms of eligibility criterion as far as everything is genuine. Your timeline is a good indicator that a perfect file will be processed within 6 months in which case I am hoping as well.

Hi Mrsldr,

My husband too is sponsoring me and my VO is Abu Dhabi. I just wanted to know what is the time frame taken by ADVO to issue the visa. The CIC website says 18 months but I was hoping to see other cases that are processed in a much lesser time frame.

The spreadsheet doesn't on this thread doesnt include your name so thought I'd ask. Do update when you hear from CIC and wishing you and the rest of the applicants all the very best for early issuance of visas.
