Hello every1:
I would appreciate if you any of you can help me with this one.
Do I need to submit two doc check lists (IMM5443) (one for each, me and my wife)? Or is it just a single form be filled in by both of us?
I'm confused after reading the instruction guide. Thanks.

You need to submit one Document Checklist and one Country Specific Checklist. There is some overlap between the two lists

Edit: the country specific one is for Outland applications. If you are applying inland, one checklist will do.

You've posted in the wrong section of the forum. This section of the forum is for Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents who are sponosoring family members for PR. You should post your quesiton to the International Students or Foreign Workers section of the forum.

Hi. I hope I can get a better idea here about my issue.. I'm a filipina, single and I'm here now in Canada. I'm just waiting for my permanent resident application to be okay.. Hopefully soon.. My question is, I have a girlfriend who is also a filipina and currently working in UAE.. I want her to come here in Canada as well.. We're planning to get married since same sex marriage is legal here in Canada but we're confuse if we'll gonna use it for her tourist visa application. Like, is it better if I apply for marriage certificate before she applies for her visa to come here?!

Ask your question in the ND thread. You'll get more answers that way.

Good day house,
I live in Quebec and I need to know if students loan for on going studies for the sponsor will affect Spousal sponsorship. This is because I have just submitted an outland application for my husband .
Your kind response will be appreciated. Thank you

Hi! Thank you for your reply. Actually, it's been 12 months for our application already. We're hoping that we hear back from them soon and that my husband gets his permanent residency.

Hi, i am sponsoring my husband, who is in INDIA

I have a question regarding Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)
Instruction guides says:
This form must be completed by:
You, as the principal applicant,
Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and

My question: Do i need to fill in two separate forms? And if i have to fill two forms for me and my husband, how would they differentiate which one belongs to whom? And
Some different question: wat is country specific checklist?

My question is whether our application is taking longer than usual for an Outland spousal application when sponsoring from USA.
Have you ordered notes? There's no way to say really. 12 months is quite long for a US application, but you mention you could not get a medical exam for a dependant child, so that is probably why it's taking longer. Anything "out of the norm" will cause delays.

Not directly, they do not look at credit or loans. You just have to show how you can support yourselves.

Only the sponsored person (applicant) needs to fill this out, the sponsor's name just goes in the "spouse" box. The country specific checklist is the PDF under Part 3: Information guides.

Hey guys

I sent two outdated forms Gen 0008 and 5710e (Change conditions) outdated with my application on 27 Nov 2015 (Inland). So far I haven't heard anything from CIC.Now I am sending a 5476 form (Rep) which is basiclly me so I can access the file of my wife on her behalf. I called cic and they said you can send that document to the same CIC mississauga address or do it online as this is faster. I am thinking to send these outdated forms along with it. I can write at the envelope "Additional ENclosed info" with the file no., old trackimg no, client id everything.

FYI, the new and old forms has no difference between them. I believe it is just the database saving change but if I compare everything is same. My file was received on 27 N0v 2015 and the new forms were updated sometime in NOV 2015 and the for 5710E form was updated in Oct 2015.

What do you guys think?

Thanks J
