Hey,

Need a small help - a question. Do we receive an email for the decision for sponsorship approval or does it come thru the regular mail only.

I got the AOR for spousal application by e-mail a couple of weeks ago. Now the e-CAS says 'Decision Made' with a line stating that a letter has been mailed to my home address. So no e-mail this time? CPC Mississauga process the sponsorship application.

Pls help.

Each visa office is different. Some get 1, some get both, some get none even. You might get the email shortly as well it really varies. The good thing is you are on the next phase now so 1 more to go. Good luck!

Hi guys,

do you mind sharing sample AOR and SA emails? Also, what email they come from?
So I'm assuming I , the sponsor, will receive it in my email and not my husband's email?

I appreciate anyone clarifying this :) ...just don't want to end up deleting it or losing it as spam.

Big Thanks!

I am sponsoring my husband and I received the email for first AOR or SA.

They basically say we have received your aplication and file number will be given for AOR

FOR SA - they will attach a PDF file which is a letter saying you qualify to sponsor.

BOTH LETTERS I RECEIVED - I AM THE SPONSOR NOT THE SPONSORED.

Thanks for your reply Tranjini :)

So the SA is the Sponsor Approval letter....and the AOR is the confirmation they have received the application and have started working on it right?

I guess we need a glossary of terms :P

Thanks!

Hello RaviJ,

I would suggest reading the very first post on this topic provided by Leon. It gives a pretty good summary and helps you decide which way to go.

Once you read that, you will have a better idea of what you want :) and can ask more specific questions here.

Hope it helps...that's what I did first!

hello evryone..!!!
Hoping for positive guidance :). To start I would like to inform that me and my fiance are from India. He is doing a job in Abu Dhabi in an MNC and i am living in India only. He applied for PR in express entry last year and that too from Abu Dhabi. He has been informed to submit medical and pcc certificates. Firstly, I would like to ask how much approximate time it would take for his PR to come? Secondly, what is the best possible time for him to apply for my sponsorship as well.. We are planning to get married in October this year. Lastly, in how much approximate time my visa will come after he applies for my sponsorship?

Hello everyone.
I sent my application yesterday by a courier and that's what I put on the envelope:
'Family Class-Spouses&dependents
2 Robert Speck Parkway,
Suite 300
Mississauga, ON
L4Z 1H8'

Is it a big mistake and a problem if I didn't put:
'CPC Mississauga' before the address?

The CIC web it says that if you send an application by mail you should put 'CPC Mississauga' and than an address. But if you send the package by a courier it only gives the address.

Thank you for all the help.

Hey Everyone,

My case for Spouse Sponsorship was applied on 12 June 2014. Later I got an email on 5th March 2015 from embassy with request to provide the contact details between me and my wife since she left for Canada on 7th January 2014 , I send the detail and has been received by embassy on 16th march. During this I received another email from the Delhi Canadian embassy and they request for re-medical assessment and I done it in 4 days at CIC health assessment center.
Now anyone can please guide me that how much it will take for Passport request? Or How much time it will take for completing my immigration process ?

You are absolutely correct then after your file will get transferred and from there you will receive AOR2 which means oh we have received your file here then IN process goes online ---> Interview/Passport request - VIsa

Hello userpg, it is not a big mistake.. Main thing is you need to put the address correctly and you sent it by courier. If I were you, I would confirm delivery by checking with the courier. Good luck.

Did yo get any letter which outlines and requests you to take this to the doc to perform the test.

Here is the link:

Dont wait any more since its already 60 days and you have to do the medicals ASAP or they will close the file since you didnt send them

Hi everyone,

Just a follow up on my query earlier. Can my father co-sign my application to sponsor my wife? He is also a permanent resident of Canada but is assigned by his company to work back in the Philippines.

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I'd like to apologize. I really tried to read all of the posts regarding this matter looking for a similar case as mine but 1170 pages is just a bit too much.

I am a permanent resident currently residing in Toronto. I'm originally from Manila, Philippines and moved here a month ago. I received my PR status in May 2013 and got married on September 2014 in Manila. My wife is still in the Philippines right now while I'm seeking employment here. I intend on applying to sponsor her for spousal visa and have read all the steps on CIC's webpage.

Just a few queries:

1. I read that approval to be a sponsor takes about 15 months and the processing for the visa will be around the same. Has anyone had any experience on having approvals and visas issued faster?

2. Is there any possibility for her to come to Canada under a tourist visa? before or after applying for spousal visa as long as she presents a return ticket or any proof that she has to go back to the Philippines?

3. Though I am currently looking for employment, is it possible to already proceed with the application or should I wait until I have a job?

4. I may be able to find a part time job soon, will that suffice to justify supporting my wife? I am currently being assisted by my parents ( free rent in their house and a bit of financial aide) while I don't have a full time job yet plus I already deposited part of our savings to my bank account here in Canada. Will that help in the application?

5. Once she gets approved, we'll need to pack and send some things from Manila to Toronto, is there some sort of tax exemption on shipping?

6. For those who have gone through the process, any one have any more tips before and during the application process?

Thanks everyone.

Thanks,

No, because a co-signer cannot be used for a spousal sponsorship. He can, however, write a letter stating that he will be helping you financially to support yourselves.

There's no minimum income requirement, but you must show CIC how you will provide for your wife.
