Have so many questions as I am getting either no answers from immigration or mixed answers. I am Canadian and I am sponsoring my Algerian husband. So far are situation is as follows, We applied with a complete application for permanent residence and was recieved on May 7, 2012. I recieved an email stating I was approved to sponsor August of 2011 and then we recieved an email from the visa office in France on October 10,2011 that they had recieved our file. They asked for a second medical which was completed within the week and sent to them. My husband was then asked to attend an interview on January 16,2012. He completed his interview and the V.O said everything looked great and we should have answer within 3 months. One thing I found odd was his interview took place in Tunisia. nOW ON e-CAS IT says, "We started processing your application on March 28, 2013". What exactly does this mean as I got 2 answers one said it will now take nine more months and another said 43 working days... The visa office in france will not answer any questions. Anyone with any similar experience we would appreciate any info....so confused :-\
October 10th would be the file transfer date. March 28th would be the "In process" date. That is the date they had everything in order to begin the visa processing. The next step is the request for his passport band from that date it can take 2 months to get the visa in the passport and returned to him.
the processing time poste for France is 9 months. They will not reply to any inquiries you make until that 9 months has passed which is July 2013. The best thing to do is get your MP to make inquiries on your behalf.

Thank you so much, that was what I thought but when I tried to get an answer from C.I.C, the lady was so rude and all I asked if that in-process meant from October 2011 or March 2012. This answer was greatly appreciated. My husband and I are very happy to here this answer..I waited this long I can wait until July...lol

Not bad.

To sponsor your spouse and children you do not need to have an income though you do need to provide proof that you can provide for their needs without social assistance.

I would apply and submit copies of pay stubs with a letter attached stating you have just returned to Canada and haven't been here long enough to file your income tax.

Have you met residency requirements? In the past 5 years, have you been in Canada at least 730 days?

If yes, sponsoring is okay. If not, wait until 730 days or your PR is at risk.

You can show copies of your paystubs. Your wife can also tell the VO which jobs she can work when she comes to Canada if she wants to work. Also, if you feel it is necessary, you can write a letter about the job prospects. If you in school to get a better job or your wife will study to get a better job, you can tell the VO that as well. The biggest thing is the VO doesn't want to see your family apply for welfare.

Hi everybody!!!

I've been reading some posts in this forum since about a week, and I found a lot of interesting things. I'm the sponsored one, well I'm going to be because we are just preparing everything for applying outland as soon as we can, we miss each other so much.
I meet my husband two years ago, and we married in Jan. The only thing that worries me is that two years ago I apply for a TRV, which I was denied, the problem is that like in a lot of cases everybody told me not to say he was my boyfriend, so I say he was a family friend, which was true but I didn't say the whole truth. I met him in Jan 2011 we were together for three weeks and start the relationship, he came back to Canada and then he wanted me to apply for TRV two months later, because we want to see where the relationship was going to go and be able to know each other better. I had no idea how hard it can be to obtain a TRV, and I had no idea I was going to be applying for PR and that said he was just my friend now can be pretty bad, because I'm scared they can deny me PR or ban me for two years. So I would appreciate if some of you with all your experience can advise me how to deal with this situation. I have my meds done, and I'm paranoid about everything they can take as a bad thing.

Thank you

I saw open it and make sure he included everything. You can re-seal it or get a new envelope.

In fact, I seem to re-call the guide telling the sponsor to review the applicants documents and ensure everything was there. I could be imaging it - but either way, I would review the documents!

I'm a permanent resident in Canada. Was wondering what if I went back to my country and got married here with my boyfriend (filipino citizen), do I have to wait a period of time and live here with my spouse before I can apply to sponsor my spouse?
