Hi Leon …… 2 ½ years of long distance relationship and i meet only my Girlfriend for 9 days personally during our vacation last year in Philippines because I am a contract worker her in Saudi Arabia and my Girlfriend is living in Canada, we are communicating through skype , Phone, Email and FB for these long period of time;
We are planning to get married this coming December 2012 , My question is ? For this 2 ½ years of being a couple through long distance relationship, is this considered be a common –Law or Conjugal ?
After we got married we are planning to apply for spousal, my GF obtained already the PR 3 months ago and am worried since my name was not included to her PR application if they will consider common- law or conjugal for that 2 ½ years. We never live together. Thank you so much!

You're not common law. In order to be common law, you must have lived together for a minimum of one full year.

And because they can be married, they won't qualify as conjugal - not enough impediment to the relationship.

Hello everybody!

I have an important question. My visa office is New Delhi. I have received PPR since almost a month now but I'm travelling now. My question is can I send my passport to NewDelhi visa office via friend or relative? Is it acceptable? Or does it lead to any complications? Please help!!

Just a quick question regarding the fees/repayment in sponsor's app. where they
ask if AOS is denied, would we want to proceed with the PR process - in which case we don't get any money back...

why would anyone want to continue with the PR process if sponsorship is denied?!
Or am I missing something?!
thanks.

My wife received this email just last week, but prior to this email they already asked my passport, pictures, medical report and etc. I forwarded everything they asked me to my wife and my wife sent it to them and this was their reply:

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.

Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the visa office by e-mail, fax, or in writing as follows.

what should i do? or does anyone same as my situation?

Depends. If she is a Canadian citizen - then yes. If she is a PR - then she should keep her trip to a maximum of 2-3 weeks. She must be living in Canada in order to qualify to sponsor you. If she leaves for longer than 3 weeks, there's a risk the application may be refused.

This means your wife has been approved to sponsor and thee is nothing you need to do until they ask.. On to stage 2! Congrats!

I am about to submit my sponsorship application. My Canadian wife will be sponsoring me, however we currently live in Australia and she has been here for the past seven years. I originally sponsored her and she has since obtained PR in Australia.

Upon approval we will be migrating to Canada. I wanted to ask about the questions in the application regarding the sponsor's proof of employment and/or income.

Basically, I am the main "bread maker" in the family, so to speak. My wife has been studying full time for the past year and hence has not been earning money. I have included in my application my 2011/2012 financial year income tax statement to show income amounts. I have also explained this in a cover letter which details our entire situation and intentions.

As I am also applying for a working holiday visa as I wish to move to Canada before the PR has been approved, should I mention this in the cover letter and will it help to show our intentions to return to Canada?

Has anyone had experience or would know CIC's thoughts on the SPONSORED PERSON proving employment and income rather than the SPONSOR? After all, we are married and share funds, have joint bank accounts and have lived together for the past 6 years.

I also own an investment property in Australia. Would this support my application in any way, and would CIC want to know about this?

I would like to know what to include in the application and cover letter which will make my application the strongest possible.

Thanks!
