Hey all ,

I am a Nov9 2015 applicant . I got a correspondence on August 3, 2016 to send further documents by Delhi office for marriage photos and it was sent immediately by post and email but never got any response from the Delhi office upon receipt or documents were accepted .
On Oct 12 2016 received a email from CIC to send medical results again but I have already sent medicals which was received by CIC few months back .
Does this mean these are for re-medicals since it did not mention anything that the earlier medicals were expired. I did send to it to them this time immediately on Oct17.

Could someone confirm what is the timeframe to the next phase hoping its BG and then receipt of PR.

Hello everyone,
I've been married religiously to my fiancee about 7 months now since both of us live and study in the usa. She is a canadian citizen and I'm am lebanese. We just got the official marriage certificate from lebanon since we don't want to get married in the USA. I have a canadian visa till the end of 2018 with multiple entries. I'm still confused between going to live in Canada and apply inland or apply from the usa which has a faster processing time. It says the processing time is 14 months now from usa, do you know if it takes less than that since I'm confused in doing a decision concerning continuing my education in the usa or going to canada and apply inland. I lived my last three years in the USA, as I read that the New York Visa office where I would be applying requires a background check filed with the application,so I'm confused where to get the Background check, is it from the FBI, or my home country Lebanon.
Thank you in advance and sorry for bothering you guys-- I appreciate your suggestions.

Since you are not a U.S. citizen, it's possible that an outland application would not be processed in Ottawa (like most), but rather the visa office that processes Lebanese applications. Having lived the last three years in the U.S., should allow you to benefit from the faster processing times, but it's up to CIC to determine where your application is actually processed.

You will need a PCC letter from each country where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 18, so you'll need Lebanese and U.S. (FBI), at least. The FBI letter takes several weeks to receive. Don't confuse a police clearance (PCC) with a background check, because they are not the same. CIC will conduct their own background and security checks, as they do for all applicants.

Good luck!

When did you do your first medicals?
If it is expired, they do not specify that it is expired; simply they will ask you to do your medical. Normally they will send you a previously completed Medical Exam instructions form with your name, UIC, App # etc. But this depends on the visa office.
You were probably asked to re-do the medical if it was expired, not simply resend the old stats.

Background checks are for the sponsor and for the sponsored person. It is the criminality check for all parties involved in the sponsorship. For example for the person being sponsored, the Police Certificate.

No. Background checks are not the same as a police check (PCC).

CIC runs their own background and security checks.

Like I said "For example"...

Not sure how "for example" and referencing a police certificate have anything to do with a background check.

Yes, The police certificate is issued after doing the criminality/security check of the person. This is why it requires to submit a police report from all countries a person has lived in.
I did say, "It is the criminality check for all parties involved in the sponsorship"
