I don't think you can use a DM (they did have AIP available that they could photocopy for us to show us which CIC letter they claimed was acceptable). You can certainly try? I just don't think it would be successful...
But that is you AIP, so you can apply for OHIP.Just received a letter from CIC stating that, '..you have met the criteria for PR, the application will be processed further on receipt of medical and police clearances'.
Also, this email has come two days after we received an email stating that the decisions had already been made and that the Etobicoke office would contact us for further formalities.
Really, the CIC communication defies any logical sequence.

It's variable. Last time I checked the stats in the spreadsheet, I think it was about 30% chance to get DM within 2 weeks after AIP, if not the average was about 2 months. From DM to landing, it's also variable depending in which office you will be landing. Some are very fast like 1-2 weeks after DM, some are slower like Etobicoke and Montréal which takes up to 8 weeks (almost 10 weeks in our case). However I've seen recent posts of people landing in about 5 weeks in these 2 offices.
My application received August 2016.My wife is pregnant and I also asked the MP to send to ICC her doctors note with a letter.They asked me to send my medical and was received June 10.Then they ask d for the certificate of marriage and it was sent on July 1.On the spreadsheet, I don't see SA/AIP for applicants from August (except the first week) and September. So I would say your timeline seems normal. But soon, they should work on August/September. And from SA/AIP to DM to Landing, everything goes relatively fast. So, few more weeks to test your patience
