Reduced my serum creatinine to 1.3 with lifestyle modifications. No milk, no dairy, no meat proteins, little exercise and meditation for 6 months. As my previous medicals was 6 months ago, I declined the invitation and back on the pool. Next week I recieved ITA. So got three more months to reduce it to normal. So made the above modifications. I took a new medicals for my family and myself on Feb 10, 2018. Submitted the PR application. Got AOR on Feb 13, 2018. Passed the Medicals on Feb 20, 2018. In progress for the rest of the application.
Hope this helps you.

Shouldn’t since it is just above normal. You should be actively taking steps to preserve your kidney function if you are consistently above normal range.

Dear All,

My Serum Creatinine level is at 1.4. But the normal range is 0.9 to 1.3 for CIC. I've been asked to come again after a week to repeat the test. Still, it was 1.4. What would be the consequences now? Kindly guide me.

what was the issue, than you need to do serum creatinine test

Hi guys
Hope you all well.

I recently done with my medical. My physician emailed me that you have slightly elevated creatinine. Creatinine is 112 umol which is around 1.27 ml and EGFR is 77

Will they refuse my application?
Hi… have your PR processed? Any issues with the medical?

Good day to all, I'm kidney transplant ladt year April and I receive a job offer in ontario as technician, my concern is that will condition as a kidney transplant will be a problem? My last serum creatinine was 1.43 mg/dl and everything else is normal including urinalysis result.

I hope someone here could enlighten me on this

Thanks

The bigger issue will be the risk when applying for PR in the future. Your health could have changed by then and as time goes on there is the consideration that you will eventually likely need a new kidney. What lead to you needing a kidney transplant can also have an issue. if you have a condition to affect/reduce your kidneys function that will also be considered.

Hi! @canuck78

Actually the cause of my kidney failure was lifestyle and hypertension. I was working in the middle east and was always drinking energy drinks (redbull and others) everyday on an average of 1-2 cans everyday straight for 9 years and my diet was mostly red meat (chicken, lamb, beef and camel), softdrinks which I also drink a lot plus when I go vacation I drink too much alcoholic drinks. My water intake also was less due to the fact that I'm working in middle east where water was expensive than softdrinks and due to all of this I gained a lot of weight and got hypertension which I just ignored, eventually I did not notice it already affect and danage my kidneys until 2020 I got covid and hospitalized which leads to too much burdern on my kidneys until they failed and last year I got my kidney transplant, since then I change my lifestyle totally.

Hi,

Congratulations that u cleared your medicals!

I am facing a similar problem. Recently got my medical done. My serum creatinine is 0.6. The normal range mentioned by the hospital is 0.61 - 1.24

I am on the borderline and slightly less than the the normal. Would they ask to repeat it or give more tests?
Hi have you passed your medical,

Transplanted organs don’t last forever.

hello,

just got my medical results back, now I wasn't aware of the creatine test, I work out every day, have a high protein diet and take creatine supplements.. so its little wonder my creatine level was 1.73 (normal is 1.3).. For the record 1.73 is only slightly elevated, its not something to worry about and by no means suggests you're going to have kidney failure..

Unfortunately saying this to the doctor was a bit of a waste of time as they just record the results and send them to the IRCC, who just look at results and tick boxes..

So basically I need to stop fasting, eat less protein and pause my training for a few weeks until my levels are back to normal, and if (and I think they will) the IRCC ask me to do a follow up, I should be fine.

Creatine is generated in the muscles when you work out.. its a waste product..

Creatinine isn’t just generated by exercise. It is an imperfect test especially being done as single blood draw but typically shows that there is an issues in your kidney or muscle thst warrants further investigationl

Yeah, true, its a sign you have high creatinine in your blood, which may or may not be a result of reduced kidney function..

I'm contacting a clinic this morning to chat about it and see if I can get be referred to a specialist to look at my kidneys..

I may also need to look at taking BP meds to keep it down.. it gets high when I get anxious.. which doesn't help the kidneys either.

Good news is I have no history of kidney issues in my family.. so I'm staying positive and assuming my kidneys are just a bit stressed with my lifestyle (which I can change) as apposed to having a chronic condition.

update
I have a doctors appointment tomorrow

Oh I made a mistake, 1.73 isn't my creatinine number, its the number on all the equations.. I read the report wrong..

I still need to make some changes, but its not as bad as I thought..

Also the report states no blood, protein or glucose detected in my urine..
