File number is enough. That's all they need to know, that you have a PR application in process.

Not sure about that, but if they only asked for your picture, then you should be fine :)

Hi All

One of my friend who had applied for PR under CEC category was facing a unique problem. He had submitted his application way back in August and had his credit card charged only on 4th November. He was expecting an AOR but received a query on his application where CIC was asking him to submit the date of birth proof. Actually he had submitted his date of birth proofs and affidavits as well. Still they missed it and asked him to fax it. He did the fax and also sent an email explaining them the situation. No update after that. He is trying to get his AOR to submit his BOWP. Following are my questions.

1) Is there any way he can contact CIO sydney office other than email / fax. If there is a phone number, he can contact them and ask them on the reasons for his AOR delay?
2) In the query he received from CIC, it has his application number. This should ideally be suffice for applying his BOWP as his current WP is valid for less than 4 months. Can he use this AOR as the application is not yet officially active due to the back and forth communication going on now?

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

Thanks & regards,
Kunishsa

I think you would get much more responses if you post this on a different thread. You would expect that only people who submitted their application in September will open this thread....

Post it as an independent thread and you'll surely get more answers.

(Sorry I can't help, I have no idea).

No, there is no number to call. The only way of contacting CIO is email or fax ( I think, not sure about fax ).

2) In the query he received from CIC, it has his application number. This should ideally be suffice for applying his BOWP as his current WP is valid for less than 4 months. Can he use this AOR as the application is not yet officially active due to the back and forth communication going on now?

Yes, if he has already received the filenumber, than his application is in the system and he can can apply for the BOWP. I would attach a letter explaining the situation when submitting the BOWP application.

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

Kunishsa

Sorry for the late response.

A reminder to all September applicants, that if you've applied and received your BOWP, or
even if your waiting for CIC to approve your BOWP application, please post details about
that application so we can compare timelines.

I'm keeping track of BOWP applications on a seperate sheet in your spreadsheet.

Here's the link:
