So you're saying it's normal to have no notification from CIC regarding receipt or processing? The first notification (all being well) should be the AOR? That's what I'm hoping to hear :)

I mailed on Sept 18th from Edmonton, AB
Signed for in NS on Sept 23rd

I don't want to undermine this spreadsheet plan, but I've found this site useful for gaining a sense of the timeframe...

If you don't want your information on it, that's fine :) It's easier to maintain and one
spreadsheet contains applicants from one months only.
Up to you, I put your information on it, or not :)

Cheers

Hey Toby, can we calculate the "Total days Elapsed" from "Date received at CIO"?

Cause it shows, my total elapsed days 8, But it is only 5 :P
Since the process start when they receive.

Sure thing. Thanks for pointing that out, I changed it.

Hi All

One of my friend who applied for PR on CEC category had his application reached them on 29th July, 2013. He has got his AOR on 29th September, 2013. The important point to note here is, he has got his AOR on Sunday which means he received an email on Sunday. When I asked him how is it possible to get an AOR on Sunday, he replied something interesting.

He was talking about a strike of few employees in CIC (which I wasn't aware) until last Monday and he also mentioned that the strike had been called off. So they started working on weekends as well to clear off the backlogs. Earlier AOR used to take 40-45 days and they want to clear off all the backlogs to meet the same SLAs as 40-45 days going forward. If this is true, All of use might get our AORs by end of October itself.

Let us hope for the best.

Regards,
Kunishsa

I don't think anyone can answer this question, as we don't know how fast they're actually working.
But yes, it's certainly true that CIC started to issue AOR on Sundays, or at least email them out on Sundays.

Hang in there!

Hi Toby

Emails are auto generated. As soon as CIC enters all the details of the applicant into their system, it should send an email to applicant's email ID automatically.

So I hope they are working on Sundays.

Kunishsa

Oh, I know they're auto-generated. But it could also be that CIC enters information for
a few applicants and then emails a whole batch of AORs on Sundays or so. Anyhow, I don't
care how they do it - as long as they pick up pace and keep those AORs coming! Haha
I should get mine by Nov 11, but if I can get it earlier that would only make things easier and smoother for me.
So, fingers crossed!

CIC has sent emails on a sunday even before the strike started.
That being said, I too read somewhere they would work 'more' to make up the time. Obviously it could be just a word of mouth

Unless we start to see August 2013 applicants receiving AOR faster than 60 days, there is no reason to believe we would receive it faster.

Same case with me.

I cant wait to see my AOR. I need to apply BOWP based on my AOR as soon as possible and I must get my BOWP by December 10th at the most in order to continue my stay in Canada.

My client doesn't want any LMO guys after 20th December. But they are OK for ICT, BOWP and PR candidates to be continued in their projects. So my employer has no option than waiting for my BOWP. Even if I get my BOWP on 11th December, the chances of me continuing in Canada seems next to impossible.

God. Please help me :)

Same here! :) However, my WP is still valid until March 2014, but it's a closed WP and I want to switch jobs, as I have a better job lined up already.
