I actually received mail today but apparently I forgot to put in a job code..sigh..I was pretty thorough.. :-[..

Anyways as a result my payment would not have been processed because I have to make the necessary correction. I will re-send by Thursday latest Friday..

I'll update with a new time line as soon as they receive the corrected version.

Hi lanzie
Welcome to this thread!
For AOR you have to wait atleast a month according to the current scenario. So you can expect it in a week or two.

BTW did you check the status of your payment? Please let me know if your draft has been encashed or credit card got charged

Thank you.

Oh no... I am sorry
lanzie - Is it thru Email or Regular mail ?

Hello InfoSeeker 12

Thank you for the information

I am little confused ..cannot I not change my status to a visitor? I have family here that I can live with for a few months as I going to resume my same job in early spring 2013

From what I read and understood from the website I can make the change from a worker to visitor before my current work permit expires.. ???

Several persons I know have gone through this process ...did anything change?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Lanzie and the forum. Few important questions were raised in your email, which should be addressed for everyone's benefit. Hence not replying in private.

Lanzie - i'm on exactly the same boat, except that mine expiring on 25th Nov.

First thing - if you were NOT able to arrange another work permit application before 25th Nov, YES - you will have to LEAVE Canada.

Second thing - NO, leaving Canada will not impact on your CEC application. I found your answer on the CEC FAQ page:

"I meet the requirements to apply under the Canadian Experience Class but have since returned to my home country. Am I eligible to apply under the Canadian Experience Class?

Yes, but you must apply within one year of leaving your job in Canada. If you left your job more than one year ago, your work experience is not recent and does not meet the requirement."

So it doesnt matter, if you are inside Canada or not. You can apply and leave by 20th Nov, and your CEC application will still proceed.

But if you stayed ILLEGALLY, in other words, your immigration document became INVALID, that will have a direct impact on the application. Of course! Any violation of laws will have a direct impact. So don't over stay at any cost, rest assured your return is guaranteed as long as your CEC application goes through smoothly.

So you have to make sure, that either you arrange:

A) Work Permit application before 25th November
For that to happen, your potential employer will have to start the LMO process. Yes, the regular LMO takes 90+ days. So in this case, you have to tell them to go through Accelerated LMO route. here's extra info (You can keep these handy incase an employer is interested and wants to learn about the route, just in case:

B) If you can arrange some extra money, dont waste time and get into a full time one year program in a college. Do that right away, so that you can secure the College acceptance letter and then you can apply for Study permit. As long as you apply for study permit BEFORE 20TH NOV, your stay will be legal in Canada.

C) Return home now, perhaps get a job back home, keep rolling the cash flow. In the mean time, your CEC will take at the most 14-15 months. Once you get that, then come back to Canada and you wont have any LMO and work permit issues.

Those are the 3 options i'm facing as well. Most probably will go through route B, as its difficult to convince an employer to apply for A-LMO. But you never know, i have heard the Alberta employers are applying more A-LMOs than Ontario. Again, I cant substantiate this with any figures, just the rumor mill :(

All the best!

Hi Thank you and it was regular mail

Hello Lanzie

They will send AOR through email.

Peter

Hi guys,

Please read the below email from CIC. I am not able to make up mind. Is this email an AOR or does this mean that they are satisfied with the forms that we ahve send and that our file will be send for further processing. Thank you guys. (My lawyer says its the file number and not the AOR)

Please keep a copy of this letter for your records and quote this number on all correspondence relating to application fees or refunds.

Hello Lanzie,

I'm not sure if Visit Visa can be converted into Work Permit as easily as study permit. Usually, one has to go out of the country for that. So at most, you may have to go to States.

But work and study visas can be interchanged while inside the country. You may double check this one.

Hi Androme,

Its definitely an Acknowledgement Of Receipt. It gives you the 4 critical information:

1- 9 digit file number starting with B
2- official receipt of your payment
3- Confirming that your sent documents are as per instructions
4- Documents being forwarded to the relevant visa office.

An AOR has all those 4 info.

Since they are saying that they have got all the required info, I guess the only thing they will ask you is Medical. So sit tight, your application is gone half way :) All the best.

Hi,

@ InfoSeeker12

Sorry, I think it is just a file number and this doesn't mean his application is gone half way. Let's see what the seniors say.

Hi,

I feel its an AOR.

I read like this RED below.

"Upon review of the information you have provided, your application is considered complete based upon the requirements of the Instructions and Regulation 10 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA)."

This is an AOR !!! There are no seperate emails for AOR and File number. If you want to clarify further, please look into other monthly forums and you will see that this is the AOR document.

Cheers !!!
Peter

Hi lanzie,

I am in the same boat with you guys, Submitted my PR app few weeks ago, My PGWP ends on Nov 24th but I have a work visa (I renewed for new passport) that will last me till February 2012. My wife have my permit that also ends on Nov 24th. I have submitted LMO in June (No response, even when my boss called them last week they say they haven't reached my apps yet).

What does a Work Visa mean? Does it means that i can STAY and CONT working?

Do I need to apply for a new work permit?

Please Help

The mail I received from CPP-O has a number starting with E + 9 numbers. Anyone knows what is the difference between E and B?

No, Peter, I dont think so.

I have applied in FSW back in Aug 2011. I got AOR from CIO-NS, a file # starting with E.

I dint get any AOR from Buffalo with a file # starting with B. But lot of people have received it. They call it as 2nd AOR from Buffalo.

Since Buffalo office is closed we may not receive the 2nd AOR starting with B, just one AOR from CIO-NS starting with E.

I dont think we may receive something from CPP-Ottowa???
