PR application for NewBorn

I’m looking for some advice regarding PR for my newborn.

My child was born in the U.S. in June 2025. I am currently on H1B visa in the U.S. and we’ve had Canadian PR since December 2022. We are planning to permanently move to Canada in September 2025.

How do we go about applying for PR for our U.S.-born child?

Would appreciate any guidance, personal experiences, or helpful links. Thank you!

You have to be in Canada to apply to start the PR process .

You’ll have to wait till you’re here and remain here

And get private insurance for the child

And you’re cutting it close with your RO

PR cannot sponsor someone if they aren’t residing in Canada
