Just received the email I've been waiting for - passport request for my wife! whew hoo! Finally - wishing all of you much success and really hope everyone gets great news soon.

Our files were transferred to Sao Paulo around the same time - so just be patient and I'm sure you'll get your passport request soon. Let us all know as soon as you get it - best of luck to you and everyone for a quick process.

Hi there,

CIC requested my husband's passport last Wednesday and they received it on Friday July 15th. They say it can take up to 30 days. Hopefully they'll do faster... I am impatient to have my husband back home with me. I'll make sure to let you all know when my husband gets his passport back.

Hi there - so how long did it take to get your passport back? we just got passport request today and was wondering if we should courier it in or use one of the Visa application centres.

My husband just received a request to send in an RCMP check. Has anyone gotten this screening done? Is it as simple as going to a police station and submitting his fingerprints and info?

I'm hoping this means that things are moving along

So people have been telling me that Sao Paulo VO is not that busy compared to other VO's so processing times should be faster, having seen this forum for Sao Paulo VO there is not that many applicants with a Sao Paulo VO (comparing with spreadsheets as well) however processing is still fairly slow I think. Now 10 months

My husband just received a request to send in an RCMP check. Has anyone gotten this screening done? Is it as simple as going to a police station and submitting his fingerprints and info?

Where is your husband?

If in Canada he needs to go to a "finger printer agency" to get it done. It costs around 55$ CAD dollars and will get it back in 1 - 2 weeks. My partner did in downtown Toronto, there are a couple in downtown.

If he is outside Canada is still doable, but will take longer and cost more to do it from web. From what I heard around 400$ US.

Note: policy station doesn't do it anymore unless the request tells you to go to a specific one with address.

He's in Canada right now! Ok on the website it said a police station can do it but there were no specific names. There's a list of agencies for fingerprinting. Thanks so much!

I'm from SP too and we just applied on Sept 21, 2016. It's great to see people here with successful experiences, hope mine will be this way as well, so next year we will all be able to celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada and eat some pumpkin pies! yay!

Hello all,

Just to update you all... On September 27th I got a request form immigration for an interview over the phone. The interview was booked for last Friday, the 14th. It was short, smooth (even I was freaking out and nervous) and apparently a success as the immigration officer interviewing me said my application was going to be approved.
She mentioned my husband and I will receive an email requesting my passport in the following days/weeks and the email will also have instruction to be follow in reason to finalize our process.

My lawyer said once the officer said its approved its DONE!!!!! So excited and happy!!! Words can describe! However, we are not going to be 100% ready to celebrate until I have all my documents/cards with my pics in my wallet! Lol! Waiting impatience for their email to finalize everything...
