Hellow everybody! I just find this topic today and I am very happy to see the timeline in SP VO. I put my information on sheets too. I applied in November and now I have the background is processing. I am in Canada using the visitor visa, but I will go to Brazil in May for 30 days. I read here that it could be a problem, but I don't understand the reason for that.

It's great to see your BC is IP! Our timelines are a couple weeks off, but our BC isn't IP yet.

If you have your PR by May, your trip shouldn't be a problem! You just have to live inside Canada for 2 years in a 5 year period.
If you don't have PR by then, it depends. Is your visitor visa good for multiple entry? If it is and you reenter Canada on the visitor visa you'll likely be entering with dual intent: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/dual.asp

It's hard to predict if you'll have PR by then. Based on the other timelines I've seen here it can take 1-3+ months from BG IP to COPR.

Keep us posted about your application and your trip! We also may be entering Canada on a visitor visa in a few months if we don't have PR by then.

Our background status was sitting at "N/A" for a while and then moved to "... in progress ..." over the weekend. And just now we received an email requesting my husband's passport, which I guess is PPR

I am happy but very surprised - this is about a 6-8 weeks faster than we expected this !

Also, just as an FYI - Neither of the websites reflect this - they are not updated, at least not for our application / by our agent. So if your status online is stuck for ages, who knows - you could get an unexpected PPR at any moment too. Good luck!

We just requested our GCMS notes!

Both of us are in Brazil and I read on the forum in multiple threads that we'd need to have a representative inside Canada to order the notes if we're both abroad, but the web form never noted any error. We used our Brazilian address and I got an email with a tracking number, so I believe it worked! But we won't know for sure for a little more than a month.

Has anyone here already ordered their notes?

So excited to see so many people receiving process movement evidence!

My husband and I received an email requesting my passport early this afternoon! YAY! It made my day, my week, my year! haha

The funny part is that I checked on MyCIC but everything is still the same "in process", but on eCAS I can see "decision made". There might be a delay between systems but the important is that the message arrived, I'll try to take the pictures tomorrow and mail them my passport asap!

It's been a long waiting time of frustrating "no news", but this forum has really taught me "no news" can be "good news".
