Hello oh really you see it is worse than I thought

I would never have imagined that only to go to a hearing it takes years.

in my mind it is the post acceptance of your claim that it takes longer in regards to get your permanently residency

Due to the one time policy getting PR has become the faster part of processing for many protected people. Once the 1 time policy is finished the PR processing time will increase. Time to get a hearing is quite variable but 2-3 years is fairly common these days.

Unfortunately, the waiting can be much longer than we expect. Many people assume that once their refugee claim is accepted, getting permanent residence will be the easier part, but the PR process can also take years. It’s really difficult when people are simply waiting to move forward with their lives and reunite with their families. Hopefully, processing times will improve and everyone waiting will receive good news soon.

Yes, I’ve noticed that too. Some applicants are getting their PR approved in around 13 months, while others have been waiting for years. Processing times can vary depending on the application and individual circumstances, so one person’s timeline may not reflect everyone else’s. Hopefully, IRCC will continue to make progress on pending applications and reduce the waiting time for everyone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this and share the official links. I really appreciate your advice.

My BOC was submitted in August, and my lawyer has been handling my claim. However, I have not yet received my medical examination instructions, work permit, or SIN, and I have been experiencing difficulties accessing my IRCC portal to check my application status.

The delay has been stressful because I am still trying to settle into life in Canada. I will follow up with my lawyer to confirm that my claim is complete, whether anything is outstanding, and whether my work permit request was submitted.

Thank you again for your guidance and for pointing me in the right direction. I genuinely appreciate the support.
Since your lawyer is handling your claim, I would recommend following up with them to confirm that your claim was successfully submitted, whether your medical instructions are pending, and whether your work permit request was included. Hopefully, you’ll receive some updates soon. Wishing you all the best with your refugee claim and your new life in Canada!

The sudden decrease in PR processing times are due to the 1 time policy. If you applied for PR in 2023 it likely took a few years to get PR but if you applied in 2024-26 your applications is being processed a lot faster. Once the quota for the 1 time policy has been exhausted processing times will start increasing again.
