@ eGrace: stay upbeat, you've already made much progress - I see from your profile status - so, as long as you have something doing to keep you occupied meanwhile, the weeks would fly past before you realise it.

@ Am goingx2: 'Non-relevant' means it's not related to my training or my intended career path, but is merely a stop-gap measure while I sit for the necessary professional legal exams to get me prepared for my relocation quest.

guys, i need your help & expertise. im sending my application this coming month with all the posible required documents. I got my self and my wife enrolled in a french language lessons in an agency offering different language lessons. this is the only one available in our place. it is like a tutorial and one on one setup . unlike in alliance francaise which i believe a classroom setup. my concern is that, i got a certificate of enrollment from the agency and the official receipt for the fees i paid for the lessons. is the certificate and receipt from this agency enough to prove that i am learning the french language and can i say now that my application and supporting documents is complete and ready to submit? and may i ask which test should i take as a beginner. or else can you explain which test comes first and second and so on.. until i become confident with the french language. i just have no idea yet about delf dalf tefaq etc.. thanks guys.. ;D
Hi Joidpile you can also practise your spoken french by downloading free mp3 audio lessons from the rocketfrench website. It helps you with the basics and pronunciation too. You and your spouse can practise speaking to each other. Try listening to some good french tunes too, it helps me with sentence formation, vocabulary, etc. Good luck

How difficult is TEF/ TEFaQ?

Bonjour à tous

Do anybody had experience to face TEF/ TEFaQ exam?
How difficult is TEF/ TEFaQ? without TEF/ TEFaQ is DELF exams are counted for Quebec immigration process?

Thanks...

Hello,
TEF is much more difficult than TEF-aq because the first one is for the students who want to study in a french speaking country while the second is easier because it is a test available for Quebec and it is much more about the conversational language. I think that even if you have Delf certificate it can count but it depends on the level that you have and the points that you need.

@ FIIRM, waiting till december is too long a wait period. There are other exams like TefaQ, etc that comes up more frequently than Delf u can try them out. If u really feel like putting-in an APPL right away,no qualms other-wise with 2hrs of study per day for 1-2months u shld av learnt enuf 2b able to clear level A1. I once told a friend to tryout A1, just 2b acquintd wit it.i told her that since she dosent av any knowledge abt french, her job isnt giving her tym to attend classes & bcos it's barely 35days 2d exam, i told her she wont pass but it ll allow her get acquinted to it.but Alas wen d rsult came she was able to clear it wit 51%. Since these exams are cheap u MAY also wish to sit any exam in d nearest month just 2get urself acquintd and who know u just might av a lucky brake
Thanks egrace62,
I will say am in the same shoe with that ur friend, no time to attend classes. Can you help me with where i can easily get materials to use on my own and the names. Also, your payement to BIQ was in US dollar or Can dollar?

Thanks

Hi Mansoor,
The reply button is not yet active on my inbox, so I'll have to leave some guidance here. My advice is call BIQ Paris and explain you are worried your file might be lost and you need to confirm it has been delivered so you don't send another set of documents to them. They'd request for your name, address, email and run it through their database. If they have not logged your file yet, then nothing shows up - but it doesn't mean your docs have not been delivered to them. Ask them when next you could call to check. Seems they are a bit hyper-stressed and over-worked so don't expect much pleasantness from them. And you'll be discussing your enquiry in french - no englsih spoken, sorry.
Next step would be to send them a web-form (see below), and also contact the complaints office to give them the same spiel. The Quebec advisers are multilingual, so give salutations in french, explain your french is not too great and they'll switch to english.

The paris webform can be found at: immigration-quebec(dot)gouv(dot)qc(dot)ca/fr /biq /paris /coordonnees(dot)h t m l

The Quebec complaints office details:
Bureau du Commissaire aux plaintes et à la qualité des services
Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles
360, rue McGill, bureau SS.08
Montréal (Québec) H2Y 2E9
Téléphone : 514 873-3533 ou 1 800 771-0464
Télécopieur : 514 873-6399
micc(dot)gouv(dot)qc(dot)ca /fr /minister e/commissaire-plaintes(dot)h t m l

Bonne chance! mon ami

Ay, Joidiple. You're much welcome.
Maybe we could all start an online french-conversation practice group for this forum via skype sometime.

I sure wish I'd bumped into this site before I sent my initial app. Seems as though June's the best submission month for getting rapid responses from BIQ Paris.

Gros bisous!
