Re: TRAINING MARKS

Hi Quebec Lovers,

I am planning to apply for CSQ soon but not sure how many points I will get under "Training" criterion.

I am from Pakistan. I have done Bachelor of Engineering (4 yrs) in Electrical Engineering from top univ in Pakistan and Masters in Electrical & Computer Engg. from Univ. of IL USA.

Can anyone guide me here? Further I found the following degree comparison doc on Quebec-Immigration website.

www2.publicationsduquebec.gouv.qc.ca/dynamicSearch/telecharge.php?type=7&file=GPI_3_1_PAKISTAN.pdf

here I cant understand the meaning of RP column and Conjoint column. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
ImmiCA

I you have been invited to an interview, and I already have more than the needed points without the 6 points of the interview
can we say that its almost sure that I will get the QSC if all my documents are 100% right !!??

@ImmiCa

RP i guess is french acronym meaning Principal Applicant

Hope this helps

thanks for the info guys....
so according to your table i have to reach B2 for the 12 points in french. Hmm seems like a task at hand....

@Shahi: Bro i called up AF and the lady there was like u can take any level.... but u said i have to go in that order.... did u personally confirm it from somewhere? actually i dont have much faith on what the lady said because she was like didnt want to talk.... pretty pretty unprofessional behaviour from AF..... I was like asking about the test fee and their course structure and she was like if you really want to do it then ask me.... I guess she even kinda challenged me i cant clear even a1 in 3 months if i cant take their course...... ok lets not digress from the topic..... so tell me if you are sure we have to take all exams....

By the way do we have to score some percentage of marks in these levels to get the required points....

Plus can u guys recommend any books or cds or audios etc or anything to prepare french on my own..... coz i am not sure if i can find time out to attend the classes.....

@ ImmiCa : RP is the principal applicant and conjoint as the french says means joint.... should be your spouse or legal partner whichever the case may be.....

@madridista : hope so but you still will want to go well prepared for the interview.... afterall its an interview......

Au Revior! ( plz let me knw if i am correct to use it here :P)

@PGDM.. i think i m pretty sure that you have to give them in that order... however i ll confirm you on tuesday..i guess how it happens is..that since A1 , A2, B1 etc happen one after another at 1 day gap..people appear at once for them in one go...but since i m not sure i ll confirm from AF people on tuesday..

@ PGDBM

Thanks for clarifying the RP. it's a great relief to know that I can get some point for trianing 8).

besides the BS degree I have MS Electrical and Comp Engg. from Univ. of Illinois USA. Do you think I can get a couple of additional points for my MS?

Regarding French Language, I have been listening to Michelle Thomas audio courses. I found it quite good and currently I am concentrating on this course. Additionally I have Pimsluer audio courses that I plan to do after I am done with Michelle Thomas.

by the way, what french test is recommended for immigration purpose. I am looking at "TCF pour le Quebec" that I found on Quebec-immigration webpage. Is this generally what applicant do? My french skill are very basic and just want to get away with the easiest one.

@ImmiCa

I think Delf is the easiest of the lot, however you might get other valuable opinions.

I've been selected by Quebec, but wish to go to Calgary.
Does anybody knows if my public health insurance for Quebec will be reconducted or can be used in Alberta also?
Thanks.

Hi,

I fially got AOR. I have the following questions:

1.) On the average based on your experience or experience of people you know, approximately how long after AOR are you called for interview or further documents requested e.g. proof of French proficiency for Montreal Office.

2.) If you have applied to Montreal office and AOR letter is from Montreal office, must you be interviewed in Montreal? Are some Montreal office applicants interviewed in NY?

3.) I have submitted IELTS result for Quebec Government to evaluate; if I get CSQ, at federal stage, an I still required to provide IELTS result and TeFAQ score to CIC? even though Quebec is promarily French?

chibiks.

@PGDM...

I confirmed today from AF..n iu was wrong..you need not follow any order..you can give any!!..Good luck!

What do you think guys?

Hi All,
I submited my application for federal skilled worker (permanent residence) on 16/06/2010 to cic in sydney still waitng for AOR but i have also submited my application for work permit earlier in which i got yesterday 23/07/2010.

My question is this,can i present this approved job from (HRSDC) for my federal skill worker permanent residence application?
2.If yes,can i work in quebec with permanent reidence status.

@all
Upon receiving CSQ, and you are applying for federal PR, you need police certificates. must they be at most 3 months old and no more to be valid to CIC?

Hello All,

I have been reading all the past posts yesterday on this thread and appreciate the efforts of all who have been sharing knowledge and helping prospective applicant. There is loads of information.
