Ireland is an English speaking country and have been here for the last three year....but y still they need IELTS???IELTS IS COMPULSORY FOR EVERYONE WHO WANT TO APPLY IMMIGRATION NEVER MIND THAT PERSON IS FROM ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY OR NOT. SO U HAVE TO CLEAR IELTS AS PER NEW RULES.

I appreciate your reply.

My friend and colleague,
I am from Nigeria (english speaking country) and currently l am in the U.S. (another English speaking country)
still they told me to submit IELTS ..I really didnt prepare for it (3wks) but l still did great because l speak english
as a mother tongue. and l did excellently great in my IELTS.

I know they wont bend in your own case. But never mind, if you feel u are above the threshold cut off mark without
getting the required points for language testing, u can re-apply..but if your points are not enough, you might really have to reconsider
taking the tests.

But stick very close to this forum in this blog, becoz the information and response from selfless service individuals here really
helped during my application.

Goodluck on your final decision!!!

Effective December 6, 2011, all new skilled worker candidates (principal claimants and spouses) who wish to obtain points for their French proficiency must demonstrate this proficiency by enclosing with their immigration application the results of a French evaluation test issued by one of the two organizations recognized by the Ministère

Re: Regarding IELTS

Hi everyone,

I have finished my MS in Sweden and after that I got PhD in Ireland and presently I am finishing my PhD here. I have been staying in Europe for the last 6 years. Recently I submitted my Quebec application for skilled workers (CSQ) to Canadian embassy in France. They have returned my application, saying that they need IELTS score!

Do I need to submit IELTS score?

It would be if I could get suggestions from you. I appreciate your replies.
Yes, the rules were changed late last year, all applicants seeking to migrate to Quebec regardless or origin, must submit test scores for both French and English from an approved board.

Hi mkshah,

Who ever can help on this, i am trying for the QSW got held up because of the DELF A1 verification, i am filing via. an agency in bangalore, India. Recently i got married and my my application status changed from single applicant to Principle applicant. Anyways i had started my process with them before the 6th Dec change in rule and before my marriage now. They ask me that we both need DELF A1 certification.
Can you guys suggest if there is a work around, to apply fast, as minimum i have to wait for 3 months before i can give my DELF A1 exam.
my details are:
Principle Applicant
=================
Age 29
Qualification : MCA (Masters in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
Work Exp: 5 yrs as a Software Quality Engineer
IELTS : not given
DELF A1 : not given

Dependent Applicant
=================
My Spouse
Age 26
Qualification : MCA (Masters in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application) 3yrs degree
Work Exp: 4 yrs as a Application Release Engineer
IELTS : not given
DELF A1 : not given

Funds are sufficient, so we should get point for that too. Would giving IELTS alone work. My spouse has travelled a couple of times to US on B1 but i am not sure if it would help our case.
First of all, I am sorry to hear of your situation. I don't believe if there is any 'work around' follow what the visa officers instruct you to do within the time frame they request. Your credentials look good, to solidify your application you need at least A1 DELF. Enroll in an institution that will have you speaking the language in no time. A good one I can suggest is Alliance Francaise, perhaps there is one in your country. The approved French exams are done there as well.

Bonne Chance!
