Thank you so much my friend. Today it's Tuesday and I will wait until the official working hours finish there in Canada and if nothing happens until then I will immediately write them an e-mail.

Regards and once again thanks for your help.

well its a bit complex bcos the job offer will be subjected to verification not by ur visa office in Accra but by SIQ ( service d'immigration du Quebec in Paris). and the implication of this is that ur CSQ will be altered to reflect this new change, so u will av to send ur CSQ back to them. the verification process takes between like 2months ( it may b more depending on aw fast ur employer replies SIQ inquiries), u also will be subjected to some verifications.
Note that the order of priority set by BIQ does not apply at d VO. as far as VOs are concerned, all QSW are equal hence no discrepancies exist. the following order of priority exist at each VOs
1) Family Sponsorship
2) Arranged offer of employment
3) QSW
4) FSW
1) so if ur file will take long to process by ur visa office, then it will be wise for u to use two months to redeem 9months
2) but if ur file is gonna be processed within 3-4months, then it really might not be of much significance trying to claim job offer.
3) if u wanna pursue it, applying to d VO ll b a wrong point of action. cos it will make d own thing drag on very very slow. cos first ur file will be on d queue and when eventually it comes to ur turn, they ll just be sending d offer of job to SIQ for validification.
. so bro, its a slipery slope with a gradient called uncertainty ;D

Thanks but in relation to the shoes we are both in I guess we stay put and just depend on our QSW processing then?

Re: (No subject)

@ Abehola, ok then. These days making a change to ones applicatn after Biq has finalisd ones file is not easy.when one is yet to apply federal, it's stil ok cos d applicnt can rturn d Csq pkg rightaway, but when d applicnt has applied 4d federal part, things nw moves at d VO pace. E.g SHANNONE one of d forum members here shares his/story thus in an old post: he/she had taken medicals & was jst awaiting visa issuance when he/she decides to add d spouse at dat stage. So he/she contact d VO that was november 2010, & guess what Biq contactd him/her march 2011 to rturn others. Wat could av causd this is aw long it took d VO to inform d Biq abt d change in status. Were it dat d fed stage av nt bn initiatd, d 5-mnths delay would av bn avoided cos he/she would av contactd Biq & rturn at d point of considering adding d spouse. D file's almost 3mnths wit Biq nw & yet no new & 8mnths past. .

Hey all

My fiance and I are about to submit our application for CSQ. I have been delaying doing this of over a year as I did not have any professional experience. We are also getting married in August.
I have been a student in the US for 5 years with my visa expiring in August. I am an RN with 8 months of experience and I also have a BSN. He is an asylee (granted about 5 years) in the IT field working on his associate and with 2 professional certifications.
We have done the preliminary assessment and we have enough points together. I could also qualify on my own. Would the visa issue be a problem since CSQ can take over a year? Should I go ahead and apply on my own as a single applicant and then wait til I become PR to add him (in which case we would already be married then), or should we wait to get married and apply together as a couple with me as a principal applicant? I think we have the best chances applying together but I do not want to wait til August to submit the application.
Would somebody give us some guidance?

PS: we are both fully bilingual, im 24, fiance is 32.

Re: (No subject)

Thanks Stillhope

I calculated my points based on this link:

http://www.canadavisa.com/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html

Training: 12(for marsters) + 12 (training in Business mangement) = 24
Experience (5 years): 8
Age: 16
Language: english - 6 & French - 2
Spouse: 6
Financial Sufficiency: 1

do you think i am double counting something?

Hi House/Harsha,

This is my 1st time of posting in this forum even though I have joined since 2009.

Let me firstly start by informing the house that my family and I got my CSQ after an interview in accra, Ghana on the 8th of June (same day as Abehola, we were there together) and it was one of the most elating feeling that you could ever have. we are now getting things together to submit the permanent residency application.

To answer Harsha's question

For
PRINCIPAL APPLICANT

Residing in USA (0 points)
Age: 28years (16 points)
MBA Finance (12 points - Level of education and 6 points - Area of training in section C)
5 Years of experience (8 points)
English: Advanced, provided IELTS (6 points)
French: basic, no proof provided (0 points, you need proof or you will be called for interview to prove it. With
proof, like french test result you will get 2 points for basic low beginner)

Financial self sufficiency (1 point)

Total for principal applicant 49 points without french or 51 points with basic french

SPOUSE

33 years (3 points)
10years of work exp (0 points)
Engineer ( can't give you point on this unless you mention the actual engineering course studied and at what level)
advanced english (0 points)
basic french (0 points without proof and 1 point with proof which is equal to max of 2 on a scale of 12)
No kids (0 points)

Total for spouse is 3 without french or 4 with basic french with proof.

Therefore you are looking at 52 to 55 points as a couple.

An applicant with a spouse or common-law/conjugal partner must score at least 57 points before you can be called for interview to try and acquire the 6 points for adaptability.

in your case you need these
1. A minimum of A1 in french exam for both you and your spouse.
2. Give birth to a child which is 4 points extra or you might be lucky to get twins ;D making the max 8 points for children.
3. Let us also know the degree and the level of study of your spouse to ascertain how many points your spouse will get under area
of training.

regards

Re: (No subject)

@ sasi malia, congratulatns in advance for ur wedding. Cos u are a nurse, ur Csq applicatn ll b priotize hence u ll b through wit dat stage very quick. Ur filing as couple must b such dat u be d principal applicnt by so doing ur excess point ll b able to absorb ur spouses point defficiencies. If u are so bent on submitting now, u may wish to get d court formalities done now so u can get ur marrige certificate. D Certificate is what Biq needs as proof of ur marriage. while other formalities ll still hold in august as planned. I hope ur bi-lingual ability includes both english & french?

Re: (No subject)

congratulations laplatto,

welcome to this thread.

If possible could u share all your interview experience with all of us.
good luck for your federal part

Harsha,

You are definitely double counting your points for area of training as you can only claim 12 points under this section if your course is any of Biochemistry, Nursing, Chemistry, Probability & Statistics and Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical Engineering. Any of these courses will fetch you the claimed 12 points under this category except your degree is from Quebec. You can send me a PM with your email address and I will mail you a document that can help you out in calculating your points properly.

Best of luck.

Got it guys!! thanks so much everyone! I guess we barely make the cutoff of 57 for a couple so have to really work hard on French now!
One more question - Since i also qualify for NOC1122 and meet federal requirements, do you think we should apply for that as well or not?

Thanks

Harsha
